Dithering ought to compress just fine.

If at first it doesn't, pick a different compression algorithm and/or reorder the pixel data being fed into the compressor, until it does. (-8

Here's a zip file containing two double sided discs of images - the first 78 (I believe in date order from the forums).

Extract both discs, load disc 'a' into drive 0 and 'b' into drive 1, then shift-break to watch.

It's simply a BASIC program, so pressing ESCAPE at any time will return you back to the BASIC prompt.

To change the delay between pictures change the value (in 100ths of a second, e.g. 500 is 5 seconds) in brackets in line 110, and if you want to have the whole thing loop around once all pictures have been shown, do this by changing line 170 to: 170 GOTO 50. If you try to SAVE the menu, you have to use: SAVE "||.menu" (that's two pipe symbols).

I'm sure there could be enhancements to this, but I'll leave that to you all. For now, I'm quite happy with my quick hack.

That's nice of you do to that Simon thank you. I do need to finish the Star Wars one!
I think back to the Acorn artists that inspired me at the time.......Joseph Lavery was one.......his AMX images were very striking and left an impression.
There were also some great pictures on the Acorn Cover disks.......not many Mode 2........there's a lot of life left in Mode 2 yet me thinks :)
I do intend to do some Acorn music soon as well but that is a bit off topic to an art thread!

This is really nice. I drank a coffee and watched it as a break from thinking about beebem and disk emulation!

That's brilliant and great to have them all in one place. I particularly like the Beeb under the Christmas tree :D

This is really super, and so convenient with JSbeeb =D> Fantastic way to enjoy this beautiful collection.

Now we just need a way for new submissions to be automatically added to the play list

Ah, that's got the broken version of LDPIC on it which tramples all over memory that it doesn't own, and makes absolute references to filing system workspace, and some other things that I can't remember after (2018-1990) years. You should replace with the fixed version.

That's good to know. I retrieved it from one of my discs from back in the day (where I got it from I don't know). Are there any improvements to SVPIC too?
