Wonder if the buyer knows it's a single sided disc with 40 of the original run-time of 100 minutes cut!
I don't think people actually care, I'm sure that most buyers of Laserdiscs these days are just collecting them and never play them.

Unsurprisingly, that one did sell.

That's single-sided as well! Waiting for new (old) DVD recorder to turn up so I can try it out with the Domesday Machine.

"The Brain of Morbius" one is sealed, so it's very unlikely the buyer would open it I think, so I'd regard it as a useless trinket because all these things are meant to be used, played, abused, enjoyed, hated, etc. But it's had the effect now that somebody else has put another copy on starting at £300, so it all feeds into the retro-inflation we're all seeing.

I like watching films on laserdisc, had "Trading Places" on at the weekend.

That's a bonkers price. I bet it sells ever so quickly. :^o

I used to have one of those BITD running our Econet at school. It was very reliable and ran for almost 10 years 24 hours a day without maintenance until it was retired when the school installed an ethernet. Mind you it was very noisy!

Nowadays my Level 4 server running on an A3020 has 25 times the capacity, is silent and runs much faster. :D

I think justifiably FileStores, especially the original E01 and E20, can be called rare, maybe even extremely rare. I think there are only a handful of people who admit to having an E01 and E20. 'Course what is rare is the almost unheard-of Communicator E20 with AFH27 product code.

its a sad time right now with people selling and buying retro stuff at crazy prices with no actual interest in retro, its just to drive up the prices for profit

its even sadder that actual retro users cannot afford to buy anything, I am very annoyed with this current trend

I will laugh so hard when the day comes when nobody is buying anything and these a**holes are stuck with overpriced junk, maybe then things will return to sanity

sorry I had to let out some steam

Prize winning, not only a massive price but in the description...

At first I thought it was this one (that was originally listed for £4.99, then immediately re-listed for £59.99) however it seems it's not! Makes £60 seem perfectly reasonable (it's not!)

It's been put back up again... at ~ 85% discount... but still wins a LOLPRICE trophy. =D>
(seller gets extra annoyance bonus points as I have to manually add them to all my search ignore filters now... I wish eBay was better in this regard)

Glad I was sitting down when I read some of these threads!!

The current prices are really pretty hard to swallow in some cases, and are downright outrageous in others.

As a genuine retroer I'm finding it harder and harder to get the hardware I like/want as it's are just too expensive.

I have to say I have been lucky with some of my purchases this year, but overall it's getting ridiculous.

On Ebay a few weeks ago, I saw an old Atom game (on an audio cassette) with a ludicrous starting price of £50.

I didn't dream for one minute that anyone would actually bid on it. It appears I was wrong...

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Acorn-Atom-C ... 7675.l2557

At least the postage was only £5...
