Err, guys, I thought the default was for them to be supplied cased. The first lucky people get Acorn cases. The rest get 3D printed cases. Dave H. will of course correct me if I'm wrong... more info in the first post of this thread

Well, Bolton didn't go as planned, however, Jason has now fixed the problem (still to try on an actual Electron [-o< ) and I've had an early Christmas present from JGH - You've got to see the results to understand the impact of Jason's Menu Display speed-up along with JGH's Christmas present.

JGH is hoping to show my Christmas present, on the Forum, soon - and explain how it all works.

I've attached an actual INDEX and MENU ROM: Using one of the emulators (Master or Electron - let me know if you have any problems!) load the INDEX image into sideways bank 0 ro 2 and the MGCROM1 into the next higher sideways bank. Then: *ROM followed by *RUN !BOOT - then stand back and enjoy :D Don't try and run any of the games!

I hope to get an actual MGC programmed and tested within the week. Once I know everything is working then I'll get individual MGCs programmed and shipped. Note: Due to time constraints you'll only be getting the PCB - Cartridge cases will be sent out later, once the workshop is complete (no holding of breath!).

Dave (and info for everyone else), you will have to be extra quick, as there is a postal strike next week - see here for details.

I think that's just Post Office staff and not Royal Mail so as long as you can fit it in a post box it should not be a problem.

Hi Dave,

you already know I would like to receive one with a Acorn cartridge (if possible)... :D

But If you not manage to send it out before Christmas, send it later, of course I also would like to receive it before Christmas but it must be fun and doable for you to do so, it don't have to be race against the clock because people are expecting/hoping to receive it just before Christmas... (my opinion... :D )

I like to receive mine with the thought it's made with joy and patience... 8)

Greetings, Wim... :-)

I don't mind waiting for one with a case if it helps with the orders/pressure?

Well, yesterday had some good points and bad points . . .

Bad Points: Due to circumstances I only managed half a day and I messed up the Menu, by forgetting to remove a REM statement (there for testing under emulation) - That set me back a little, however, it had its benefits as I added a piece of code for testing purposes.

Good points: I ended up, at five to midnight, with the first fully working (Menu system - as not all of the games have been fully tested) MGC - and I'm chuffed to bits with the results :D

Please Note:

Do I have your current address?

Have you sent me your preferred choice of games? If not you'll get my choice  .

Thanks to all - Dave H :D

If there's games not on the list, does this mean they're not available for the cartridge for whatever reason ? I was wondering about the later Repton games Around the world, Thru time and Life of Repton.

It might be possible to make them run from ROM. I just didn't prioritise them. Repton 3 works, so it may be easy to add these as well, though you'll have to negotiate with DaveH. ;).

Edit: Having said that, there are more levels supplied with the add-on Repton 3 games, so I don't think they'll fit. :(

Thanks, I just sourced some games here in Edinburgh and they were amongst them, which made me wonder.

It looks like Repton Around The World, Repton Thru Time and Life Of Repton all have too many levels to fit. I had to omit Repton 3's Prelude levels for the same reason, but they are already included in the main game executable, so only needed to compress TOCCATA and FINALE. :(

Maybe a future version of the cartridge will feature better compression.
