Eyes

Post by billcarr2005 » Thu Mar 27, 2008 1:08 pm

Keys seemed a little fiddly, so thought i'd share this in case anybody else felt the same way!

*LOAD Eyes1
?&4754 = &B6 / RETURN = Fire
?&4A0F = &9E / Z = Left
?&4A16 = &BD / X = Right
?&4A1D = &B7 / * = Up
?&4A24 = &97 / ? = Down

?&4FBO = Number of Lives

*SAVE Eyes1 3000+2900 5880

Nice one Bill - think I'll use that to create a Hack Version for the Cheats archive!

Anyway, what do you think of the actual game? :)

nice1 Bill,

did not have time to play last night, but will use this for the keys!! (ow & lives!)

it looks a little like the Bumble Bee game (just had a quick go at work).

just shoot the other thing before it gets to you :)

Yeah, keys were a nightmare, though you can modify them through BeebEm.

I got to screen 2 using the original, dodgy keys. It's moderately entertaining, but it's not a classic.

Definitely reminded me of Micro Power's Bumblebee as well ... with a touch of Pac-Man and Felix And The Fruit Monsters too.

Sam.

Suffers from Partis-itis - superbly programmed but too hard to be any real fun.

It's a wonderful curio though, and really interesting to see where the Ultimate games came from. I always wondered what the mysterious "PP" had done before "Sabre Wulf".

was doing fine, until another eye popped out and it was twice as
fast as the other :x

do i need to shoot the red things on the 'paths' ? :?

i take it aim of game is to collect 4 things, ie glasses, pot, etc and then go to next level?

No, you have to shoot all the "things" on the level - it's like Pac-man, but you have to shoot them instead of just running over them.

I found it a lot easier when I stopped firing individually and started to just hold down the button ... but then, I was using the whacko default keys.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder where that keyset came from - they'd be just as awkward on a real beeb!

Paul used them on all of his Ultimate games - they made Sabre Wulf a real bitch until you got used to them.

Not bad, the graphics remind me of Neanderthal Man somewhat. I never really got into Bumblebee but I really loved Icon Software's Chrysalis which is very similar. Much better graphics, sound and gameplay :D

Great to see these gems continuing to surface BTW!

I got all four items, and the diamond thing. Bit of an anti-climax to be honest. I was expecting another tune like Mr. Ee!

I'm slowly improving, I got 16560 on my last go.

The 'theme tune' is from the chorus of 'My eyes are dim'...

"My eyes are dim I cannot see,
I have not brought my specs with me,"
