Well I have mixed news.

The bad news is that I've just come here to find I've been inadvertently been bidding against my comrades. I was going to post that there was a lovely haul of MIA titles that unfortunately I've just missed out on. The big last few seconds' jump was down to me, I'm afraid.

In brighter news, it was me that snagged Beeb Invaders. Delighted you've got the rest of the booty.

Col - as it sounds like you're well set to get images of such things, let me know your address and I'll send it on.

Did COIC's Supermarket and the Ivan Berg/Acornsoft Revise GCE/GCSE English ever turn up? I've got both here.
This is the former:
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=8191&p=86610#p86610

Happy to send those on too if they're needed.

EDIT: that's some unfortunate cross-bidding; but at least we're preserving.

I'm happy to chuck in more given the outcome. Whatever ends up being smart.

Result! :)

Well done Col and everybody else who contributed and thanks Ivor for stepping forward.

Aye I agree that we should probably use a hidden area for flagging MIA's.

In terms of establishing a 'fund' for procuring MIAs I sounded Lee out earlier about adding a Paypal donations box to bbcmicro.co.uk - so expect a PM from Lee soon if not already!

I'll also raise the idea of adding a donation box to Stardot with the other admins/mods ...

Still worth it as there is a fair number of titles in there.
We will hopefully get the details soon where we can send the moneys to.
Peter.

well, well I never

I was waiting for a PM reply from Stu /Ivor, to see if he Really needed them for his collection, & does not want them
also got a reply from the seller of Beeb Invaders, & said he would pass my info onto buyer (Ivor), so that was nice :D

Regarding the fund pot, could all pretty please send to my personal email paypal, being : "dj dougs 75 AT yahoo DOT co DOT uk"
(obviously with no spaces, AT=@ , DOT=.) I would PM 12+ good folks =D> , but getting lazy in old age :-$
also a small message with member name, if different from real

Not had a PM message from Lee as yet... so once that's sorted out / donation box, will put excess in that for running bbcmicro. co. uk / etc

Basically, I don’t collect as such. Just had some spare cash kicking around in my Paypal account and figured throwing it all on as a last minute bid would secure the MIA titles for a significantly smaller sum. The intention all along was to put them someone’s way so images could be created. Had no idea £70 wouldn’t even be the highest bid!

Mmm. I know I registered back then. (More exactly, I went on an archaeological dig for my registration details when I tried to register and discovered I already had.) I don't recall why, though.

Let the record show my first actual post was on September 5th last year.

^Peter, I have a 8 - 16 hr a day full time job you know!

yes, the MIA will be done, & if you need them, then can post you a CDr /DVD of them, as only got 32down 6up bband.

nothing will be different, no point in uploading my massive .WAV files that are already done to CSW.
& I also bet no more dodgy /stream loaders either, this lot looks early 1981, some prob for ModelA
also if just one file, pointless, as no need to archive these as no 2 seconds gap between files.

will check against the old acornCSW(acornpreservation.org0.001) 2 3 etc files to see whats missing, & make CSW if need be.

FYI: the files you made for GraphicResearch_OrbitZero_BBC_ , the CSW does not load back into a beeb with BackToLife prog

Back to life does not make very good wave files I gave up using it, especial if the source wave files are not of a very high quality.
You would be better off using PlayUEF here http://playuef.8bitkick.cc/?LOCAL=true is the link for loading local UEF files into it.

I did not create the wave for GraphicResearch_OrbitZero_BB and looking at it, it's not the best quality but was usable enough and was only helping in converting it to a working csw and uef file :)

NEWS !

some white van came to my house with a Hermes box at 1pm

they are here

give me a few moments to sort out pics / files etc,
then check : viewforum.php?f=32 (archive submissions)

the two hidden A&F boxes are :
Pharaohs Tomb
Tower Of Alos (EDIT, in STH archive just one main file, sideB of tape has a Instruction file, but will work on it....)

which we have in the archive already, luckily, as got nothing from the four of them, apart from a SSD Pharaohs Tomb :x

Thanks again everyone for getting this sorted
