Five-A-Side Soccer for the Electron

Post by robcfg » Mon Dec 31, 2018 12:26 pm

Hi,

I found a small stack of Electron games at my parent's place, and decided to dump them just for fun and learning how to do it.

Thing is, I managed to get an UEF file from my wav file, but I'm not able to load it on any emulator.

This is the MakeUEF log:

Code: Select all

Maybe it's missing the last block flag or the last block altogether.

Also, the tape is marked as an Electron tape, but I've managed to see the loading screen on BeebEm4 emulating the Model B/Master. How compatible are the different Acorn 8-bit models?

Cheers,
Rob

I've tried it on MAME 0.202 but fails at the end of the load.

That said, I'm having trouble finding an Electron emulator that works on MacOS...

I finally got Clock Signal and managed to load your UEF file, @CMcDougall

If try to load mine I get a "Bad ROM at line 140" error. Anyone knows what kind of error is that?

^ it must just be a bad .WAV file & the UEF maker has transfered / picked up something not 100% so manipulated it as something else

if mine works, then it ain't a ROM that needs unplugged from your elk, as nothing in a bog standard elk (no plus1 / plus3) as only OS1.00 & Basic2

Five A Side Soccer has copy protection in the filename so that's why it won't work for you. ;-)
