If there was a shorted turn in the transformer then almost certainly it would affect the +5V. So as long as you have a Voltage above 12V ...

It's probably more realistic to look at the circuit diagram and try and simplify it to a filter that can be implemented in an emulator. It's what I would expect ThomasHarte to have done with Clock Signal. Are you reading this, Thomas?

... vga for those who need it. If room is an issue for header then mount it coming out from edge with half pins soldered to top and half to bottom of circuit board that way plugging in ribbon cable doesn't need any more vertical clearance :)

OK so where did we get with this.. Did a circuit or potential circuit get designed? We also have the FPGA code that worked to an extent and produced mode 7, had certain turbo modes and the tape parts sorted so loads from tape reasonably well? ...
