Re: Computer Shops From Back In The Day

I also worked in a computer shop, in my case in Potters Bar in Herts and imaginatively (or superb marketing-ly) called.. "The Computer Shop" This was after I messed up my A levels. A friend worked for them so I just kindof started there. Nice people. The first computer I sold was a Dragon 32, the se...

41256 rams - where to buy?

I need to buy a set of 41256 rams. Ebay prices very variable and farnell doesnt list them.

could anyone please suggest a uk (possibly europe) supplier and is there an alternative IC i could search for. I need 8 new IC's to expand the ram in an atari.

Re: Today I received.....

Jon B with the TRS model 4! I can help.

I use an old beeb drive in my modern-ish PC to write M4 disks (needs a certain floppy controller, eg Asrock Intel P4i65G £20 off ebay) and also have a CF Hard drive emulator on my M4. Writing disks is simple, honest.

I'll pm you, sure we can get you software.

Re: Can anyone tell me anything about the Sharp MZ700?

Hi Jon Just a note if you get a plotter, worth checking this, but I understand the plotter uses the same Alps mechanism as the Tandy CGP, atari 1020 and the similar commodore /sharp models (you should be able to confirm the model numbers easily enough). The pens are normally expensive or rare as hen...

at risk of crossing the streams: I'm toying with the idea of getting one of these , as I'm sure I'll never get a real UK101. http://www.brielcomputers.com/wordpress/?cat=39 Whats interesting with this (maybe more on topic) is it mentions they've had reproduction keycaps made by http://www.wasdkeyboa...

Re: Compukit UK101

Hope Ok to drag this thread off topic (again) has anyone seen this: a superboard ii remake. I've always had a soft spot for a UK101 (riding bike down't lane to East Barnet's CompShop in 1979 or thereabouts and saving up for one) .. but never got one. thought this might be of interest to the Uk101'er...

Re: Tatung Einstien..

thanks Rob

seems I have a choice, either use a slimline drive and engineer a support, like wot you have, or fit a normal drive, take out the original plastic and fill in the gap with something black ( I'll do that first, will try a floppy disk sleeve)

add that to the list of suiff to do :)

cheers!

Re: Tatung Einstien..

Hi Rob, if you don't mind could you please share a pic of how you fitted a 3.5" in the 2nd bay? I've lined up a regular 3.5" drive on mine and think I'd have to cut the case plastics ( which I don't want to do), however a slimline 3.5" might just fit by virtue of being higher up the opening's 'slope...

Sony PVM 14" monitor - RGB, s-video, composite

Hello chaps Remiss of me if I don't mention this to STH'ers; I'm passing on a Sony broadcast monitor, 14" steelcase, the mutts nutts, just £21 plus shipping or pickup.
