Re: Quality Programs for the BBC Micro - WANTED

I also have this book. I am happy to type the descriptions into bbcmicro.co.uk (Assuming you want it to put games on) - I think the "How to use the program" section is most appropriate. The rest is quite waffly!

Re: bbcmicro.co.uk - going beyond games?

Have a look at http://bbcmicro.co.uk/ss.php Most spreadhseet programs should be able to open this directly from the web. e.g. Libreoffice you select Sheet->Link to external data, enter the URL, wait a minute, select "Automatic" for language, click OK, Click one of the options in Available tables/ran...

Re: bbcmicro.co.uk - going beyond games?

We did talk about this before with respect to the educational archive . John's creaton of his archive makes that less urgent, but I agree it would be good to do. I am really happy to change the code in a manner that would make it useful for other archives, and I think it would be nice to have the ar...

Re: Things I am doing. Desktop application

Must be something about winter that made me think about this again, and the fact that as things stand it is impossible to link the screen shots in the archive download file with a game entry. So I am revisiting this, and have more or less unilaterally decided that I will use the following scheme for...

Which 17" laptop should I buy

I am in need of a new laptop. My current one is a 9 year old Sony. I like the 17" HD monitor, the keyboard which is full size including the numeric keypad. I don't like the poor display (Poor field of view, but even worse, it is difficult to tell similar colours apart). I want to run b-em obviously,...

Tricky pointed out that we didn't have the latest version of Astroblaster. I uploaded it - better late than never!

Aparrently the latest version works better with jsbeeb. I just gave it a quick test, and it seems OK.

I believe that has been sent to me. I am happy do dump it if it hasn't been done already. Might have to be in the new year though. I would expect you would also want a scan of the manual etc.

I also meant to say that like the admins here I am reluctant to mod delivered software (Bootstrap in this case) because it increases the maintenance costs significantly.

Re: Quoted text in Notes is too big, esp. on iOS

what I'm actually trying to do is report the issue to Paul Consider it reported. I will have a look. This appears to be by design Text is 14px and blockquotes are 17.5 px on my browser. Of course bootstrap is responsive, so this might change for different systems. I have been advised that tweaking ...

Re: Suggestion: Cheats, maps, tips, trainers and the like

I think something like this was discussed with respect to the bbcmicro.co.uk website. It would be nice to be able to click from there to a discussion about each game. It wasn't possible to do without plugins, and the amazing people who run the forum don't like using plugins because they have caused ...

Missing disc images?

Knight's Move and Treasure Hunt both from fast access don't have disc images, I think this is an oversight, as all other games without disc images have a note as to why.

You can find them by going to the last page once you order by latest releases.

I don't think you can currently search bbcmicro.co.uk for games that meet multiple criteria, such as all games that have the tag "Text adventure" and the tag "Graphics"
This does what you want:

http://bbcmicro.co.uk/index.php?search= ... on&on_S=on

Edit: Correct URL
