Re: New Atom boards....

Would you mind posting the PCB schematic as well as the VHDL - just so I can try and work out how all this stuff works ? Sure, though was planning to eventually publish on retro hardware when it went live..... I'll post an archive tonight with the design files for the RAM ROM and 3.x colour boards....

Re: New Atom boards....

I had a quick look as the schematic, and I think this could be done in the Xilinx, and would not require any PCB changes. Is the source for the Xilinx available for end user hackery? :D I'll post it tonight, the latest versiion will be on the machine in the back room that I use for programming the ...

Re: Faulty Atom Now Fixed

Thanks, Phil! Mine freezes upon heating. :( Do you have a can of freezer spray ? Maybe try opening the case, putting the 'top' half upside down on some blocks or books so the keyboard isn't being pressed all the time but you can get to at least BREAK and SPACE, wait for it to lock up and then start...

Faulty Atom Now Fixed

Hi, I've finally got my Atom working - previously it was mostly freezing after correctly displaying the start-up screen, no response to the keyboard. Occasionally it would taunt me by working correctly. After reviewing various people's suggestions, rereading danielj's post here: http://www.stardot.o...

Re: Today I recieved.....

Just arrived from Holland, 1 x complete Atom Disc Pack, and 1 x empty one for Phill, courtesy of the very generous Roland.

I suppose I'll actually have to get my Atom back to full health now,

Cheers,

Re: Today I recieved.....

Today I recieved some "new" Atom stuff. If you're interested in one of these components, just let me know. One disk pack and the monitor are reserved. The upper diskpack is only the housing and drive, no controller and no power supply. I didn't test anything yet. Regards, Roland Hi Roland, I'd be i...

It's neither working nor for sale.

The DE0/Tubesilencer combination works fine though - and both of these are for sale, but not by me.

Re: Changing ULA types on an ADC06

Ok thx for that. Looking on the schem of the external Co-Pro, I can see that link that selects the power to the ULA, but it doesn't seem to be present on the internal one, so that would make sense. I've not found a schem for the ADC06, no. Thx, Mark. I think the internal co-pro might be significant...

Re: Changing ULA types on an ADC06

Hi Folks. Quick Q...On an ADC06 (Internal Master 128 6502 Co-Pro), I've got Issue 2 boards where one is fitted with the CMOS AMI ULA, and another fitted with the Ferranti ULA. The only difference I can see is a 1W resistor fitted at R1 on the Ferranti board for the internal LV regulators. Is it jus...

Re: Which Atom to keep?

I'd say keep the issue 5. They seem to be slightly less common (based only on my sampling of ebay over the last year), the keyboard is better, and I seem to remember someone (PhilYoung) having some problems with AtomMMC2 in an issue 4 Atom, but they worked fine in an issue 5. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=55...

Just a quick update - I've now found a handful of BBC Disk Interface PCBs, which are actually dual 8271/1770 interfaces (I've also located a schematic). These are available at £5 each "whilst supplies last" and I'll get a piccie online soon. . I'd like one of these as well, if any are still availab...

One word of warning to anyone that does order one you'll also need some 8 bit ISA I/O cards (graphics at the very least), plus an XT or switchable keyboard. Though some 16 ISA cards will apparently work, with the extra part of the card not plugged in....some Trident VGA cards spring to mind. Cheers...
