Re: My BBC Collection

The Priceless thing is so true, to my mind it's worth however much it brings you pleasure and as BBCs got me into what I do now they deserve a place in my life and fiddling around with them brings me lots of pleasure, win win, even though the missus doesn't see it that way :) I've had a few ups and ...

Re: My BBC Collection

I thought you guys might guess low initially. I don't personally think I've been ripped off but it's considerably (relatively) higher than that. These things are commanding higher and higher prices at the moment. Who knows what your collections might be worth :?: A few things in there probably aren'...

My BBC Collection

I thought this might be interesting, here are my EBay purchases relating to my BBC Micro collection over the past year (I only started collecting BBC stuff a year ago). All you BBC experts out there may be interested in putting a figure on what you think it all cost me. Unfortunately Mark at Retro C...

Re: Fixed one beeb, part solved another

If not I'll be saving my pennies for one of these: http://www.picotech.com/picoscope2000.html ., I'm thinking that for most applications I'll be using a scope for, the 25MHz model will be more than enough... Here's something that may be of interest. Understand that today's signals are no longer pur...

Re: I need help with this cable.

I have one of these and it works a treat, I would definitely recommend it, especially at the price, although the retro clinic datacentre is another good option too (if you have a few more pennies) so I'm lead to believe.

Re: EPROM 27128-21V

Thank you Guddler, I've just had a look at your website, nice, please don't scrap anything pretty or possibly useable on my account though. It always makes me sad when you have to scrap a game PCB or computer when it could bring joy to someone with a bit of TLC. It does sound like it's more than TLC...

Wouldn't want more than 10, or some number in between, depending on how many you get?

Does anybody know where I can get hold of some 21V eproms, preferably 27128?

Thanks.

Re: Dead BBC B - repair ideas

I don't think I've ever come across anything called "flush cut dykes" (unless they appeared in that 1976 film with Robin Askwith and Cherry Blair's dad), what could I use instead, which could be found lying around the average BeebMaster home? :D I think I picked the phrase up whilst working in Hous...

Re: Dead BBC B - repair ideas

Yes it is. 14 pin I think. But as I say, I'm now fairly sure this was a red herring. It was just you were saying it's difficult to desolder, DIP packages are quite easy to desolder if you take your time, just FYI for next time. This is how I do it, firstly take some flush cut dykes (snips) and snip...

Re: LOLPRICE

Ditto on the high prices from this Ebay seller, before I really knew much about BBC Micros and how much they went for I spent quite a bit of money (over £100) on one, but luckily it wasn't working properly, so I got my money back ............. close call

Re: Acorn Atom for sale on Ebay

My wife saw on Ebay that I'd put a watch on it, thought I was bidding on it and phoned me at work to tell me off, of course innocent me wasn't bidding on it I was just interested to see what it would go for

She apologised =D>

My name is Martin and I'm a BBC Micro EBay Addict, is there anybody else out there who would like to step forward and become a member of BBCs Anonymous?

25 years at least

I've just loaded Chuckie Egg, for the first time in 25 years, from a tape onto a BBC micro. At the same time I'm desoldering a 6522 from a BBC B+ that isn't working properly and waiting for a DIP socket to solder in its place to come in the post (I have a couple of new chips in my possession). Life ...

Hi from Aberdeenshire

I have the BBC, that my mum and dad bought for me as a teenager, to thank for the fact I'm a chartered electronic engineer now. I have a vivid memory of opening it up and wondering how all those black rectangular things made it do what it did ...... I still wonder  Having spent a small fortune...
