Really ?? Let's take a random sample of the UK population - the Stardot forum membership for arguments sake. People are going to die because we've left the EU ? I don't even think the incredibly inept Remain campaign suggested that.

We'll survive, for better or worse, but we'll survive.

Was there a referendum or something then recently ? More importantly (most importantly!) England have the chance to whitewash the Aussies tomorrow morning. Double/Dual Disk Drives

Do double or dual disk drives take up any more memory under DFS or ADFS, or when page is raised to &1900 on a normal Beeb is it all included in the memory already allocated ?

Re: Modern day "add-ons" for Acorn computers

It's still my favourite BBC add on, even though it's been superseded by the DataCentre in terms of transferring SSDs to a real machine.

Fancy doing one of these next Mr B ? High res graphics and a more varied palette on a Beeb would be nice :D :D

To me they look the same, but you can tell on the Archie it's playing on a computer, it sounds like a chip tune. On the Amiga it sounds more like real instruments (or real samples :-) ).

Must say, I found the music on the Archie version of Xenon2 just doesn't compare to the Amiga which seems to have much more ooooomph about it.

Graphically they're the same aren't they ?

Re: Formatting disk on a Master corrupts BASIC programs ?

Just out of curiosity, in Beeb Em, I set up a machine with Watford1.54T DFS to see if the same thing happened.

It doesn't corrupt/delete the program.

Formatting disk on a Master corrupts BASIC programs ?

Is it just me, or does formatting a disk on a Master corrupt any basic program that's resident in memory ? Or would that be any program that's resident in memory. I did it on Saturday with a real Master and thought that can't be right, so tested it in Beeb-Em with the same results. I thought only C6...

I'd be very wary after my experiences with their Vigor 120 ADSL2+ modem - I've got two broken ones. The replacement D-Link DSL-320B seems to do the job better (higher speeds, more stable connection), is more reliable and is a quarter of the price. The 120 is just a modem, normally used as a...

Published Spaghetti Code

In between playing Planetoid and building a new man cave at the moment, I've dug out some old BBC books and have been playing around with some listings contained in them. I started with 60 Programs for the BBC Micro, Galaxians on page 22 (see here http://www.8bs.com/othrdnld/manuals/publications.sht...

If the print is too small for you to read it shows a score of 875185 for Planetoid - that's quite a feat.

Not huge amounts - Guardian on the C64 back in the 80s and Planetoid at college, although I always got told off as the IT teacher thought it would damage the keyboards on the Beebs. At the time Planetoid was the closest thing to the arcade version I could get my hands on. Re: Dead master

Have you taken it back to a base configuration?

Unplug the disk drive
Unplug the MMC Drive (not just the ROM)
Take out the Co Pro
Unplug the DataCentre (if you have one)

Then try powering it up.

If it works normally then it's one of your peripherals causing an issue.
