Re: New user activations

Sadly the last one of those I helped to accelerate the approval of turned out to just want to sell things and not engage in the forum for any other reason. Paul What's wrong with that? There's a trading section of the board, and selling things is contributing to the overall Acorn experience. Would ...

Re: Today I received.....

I used to have both back in the day but they were "disposed of" in a very large tidying up session. I subsequently obtained a copy of the Z80 copy a few years back, but for some reason the 6502 version until recently has been hard to get hold of. There was one up on eBay for a while from the US, but...

Re: Today I received.....

@TopBanana Nice! I have the Z80 one.. but it's a little annoying because of how they printed the mnemonic headings in Chapter 5. They are all left justified - would be easier to use if the right hand page headings were right justified. Is the 6502 book like that? It's the same in this book, all lef...

Lol - it wasn't Osama that time, it was a 6"4' Texan who was setting up the phone system in our office (if you can call the portacabins offices).

I think I got in trouble as well for losing the key to the 'Nimrod' room , what ever that was [-X  :D

Re: Virgin Media Super Hub

I always turn off all the Super Hub functions setting it to modem only mode. I then have two firewall/routers from different manufacturers so if one is vulnerable to an exploit, the other most likely will not be. All my machines are connected to the internet be behind the second firewall. Also if g...

Re: NAS drive recommendations

If you want quality, go for QNAP or Synology - the more you pay the more features you get (obviously), but the underlying OS is the same.

If you are just looking for commodity storage go for Buffalo.

Re: Powerline adapter into ethernet switch

According to the documentation they do - although you have to have an Edge Pro licence.

However, it will achieve the segregation using VLANs even if they are hidden from the interface.

Must say, I like Watchguards, I use them at home, although we major in SonicWALLs at work.

LG1721a or LG1921a

Both have a 4:3 screen ratio andwork well with a SCART cable.

Other 4:3 LG LCDs work well too, there are many different models.

You can normally pick them up for £10 or there abouts on eBay
