Acorn Basic Editor

Hi all,

Acorn has made a very nice BBC Basic Editor, but there is no complete manual. The only thing I have found was a part of the reference manual (starting at page 22).
Does someone has the full manual, so I can OCR it and donate it to the STH?

Cheers

Re: Master Cartridge

Well I think is working now :D I re-tinned the chip holders, and just bought 2 RAM modules and put them in the Acorn cart. The others went into the Care cart. Started the Master and started to load several images into the banks. (including bank 4) And all seemed to work. I also switched the carts ph...

Re: Master Cartridge

Well Rom Controller is a little util from Beebug. Vol5 Nr3. (file is ROMUTIL) This gives the option to look to all the slots in the beeb/master. And if there are SWR availible it displays RAM on the slot. Very handy :) bug5-03.zip With tinning I meant the chip holders. Just give them a little extra....

Re: Master Cartridge

I'll re-tin the connectors. That would be a good to do.
And they did work fine in the care elec. cart. But as I test them just now, 1st time nothing, and the 2nd bootup time they worked.
(it feels like I have to test everything again from the beginning :( )

Re: Master Cartridge

Therefore Koen, make sure you are only loading <=16k images (or data blocks) into each slot and, if they are rom images, that you don't load the same image into two slots. What I loaded where different rom images in the different slots. So that should not be the problem. And these rom images are 16...

Re: Master Cartridge

Sorry, my mistake about pin 1. (I can solder and see things, but understanding stuff goes beyond my knowledge :( ) But indeed pin 1 (as edited on the picture by sorvad) is indeed on this side, not connected. (not broken, because the opposite side looks the same, but on then on the right side) And no...

If you mean the dot within the red circle, then it is an empty solder point connected to the scart connector (see red line). Nothing broken there.

I tried 2 ROMs and then it works fine.

Hi Martin, I do indeed use the same chips in the Care Electronics cart. And then they work fine. And alas I do not have a different version of the 32k chip :( I'll try to find a different version of the 62256 chip to test this. Cheers Koen Edit : What is the speed from these chips then? Re: Master Cartridge

Hi all, Can I add a little question to this? (to stir things up :) ) I started this discussion with the question if someone had a cartridge for sale. And now I have got one! But there is something strange with it. My goal is to load my master with 2 cartridges with both 32k of RAM. (using banks 0,1,...

Re: The Quill

Well I have a conversion working, but also on my side I didn't find any disk image.
If you want a working version of Quill that works with disc (including save and load), I can send you a disc image.

I start to wonder if a disc version ever has be released. Even if the manual say so.

Re: Master Cartridge

Great thanks.

What the strange thing is, when I place a bid, immediately someone bids over it.
How come?
If that happens once, it can happen, but when it happens 2 or 3 times in a row, it becomes irritating?
Is this a setting you can do on ebay to overbid always?

Re: BBC RGB to VGA lead

Yes, but you'll still be limited to the quality of the composite output - in other words, it'll look crap. Is the crap on the VGA (after the composite converter) the same as a green black monitor using composite? Or when you take a RGB to SCART cable running it through a video recorder, and than a ...

Re: P.R.E.S. Plus 3 - What goes in empty socket?

ordinarily ADFS WONT use swr unless you use P.R.E.S. ADFS @&E00 (requires a total of 32k in 2x16k blocks) as it is not programmed to. But, the strange thing is, that I have the ADFS E00 version, and there was a 32k SWR in the AP3. I removed it one day, don't know why, and don't know how to put it b...

Now I'm a bit confused.
Did PRES release a Plus3 and an Advanced Plus 3?
If this is an Advanced version the SWR should get the ADFS E00.
Or am I wrong?

Re: P.R.E.S. Plus 3 - What goes in empty socket?

Hi Mark, The P.R.E.S. ADFS has 2 sockets. One of them can handle a 32k SWRAM. If I remember it well, the had to be a short cut of 2 pins to let the Electron recognize it as 32 k. Otherwise it would be 16k. (if I'm correct) I'll try to find my manual and let you know if I have the solution to it. (if...

Well it looks quite the same as an ADFS system, so that is good. And that means that most of the Menu System should work with NFS. But what I quite can't figure out is how you switch to the network system. When switching drives you just say *DRIVE X (where X can be 1 through 5, yes HD is supported :...
