Re: The other day I received a ransome eMail

On a more serious note don't password managers just concentrate the problem in a single place? I mean if the pw manager gets compromised they (potentially) get everything right? Also how well do they handle mutiple machines across multiple operating systems e.g. Home machine is W7, laptop is W10, h...

Re: The other day I received a ransome eMail

As already mentioned, no system in place to thwart a scammer is infallible. The biggest security risk in all this is YOU . FWIW I have 2 factor authentication enabled on both of my Nationwide business and personal bank accounts also on Ebay, Amazon and Paypal. All of my online banking requires the u...

Re: BASIC finally recognised ...

@Mark

The original story that my previous post was taken from did indeed say "Set" instead of "Code" ... It was an error by the article's author that was subsequently corrected later.

BASIC finally recognised ...

After just over 55 years, the birthplace of BASIC has been honoured with a memorial marker in New Hampshire. Thanks to a campaign by local paper columnist David Brooks, the New Hampshire Historical Highway Marker was installed earlier this month. Professor John Kemeny, Maths professor Thomas Kurtz, ...

Re: BBC micro RGB to scart problems (help/ suggestions)

Some televisions require you to select RGB mode as the input for the SCART, because the SCART can transmit other video formats besides RGB, including composite video, s-video and component video. So you may need to select the correct input using the remote control. This is usually labelled as "input...

You can fit a switch between the raised pin and the mainboard to re-enable the RF and composite so you can use the console on older tv's however, it will also re-introduce the jailbars.

Re: C64 software....and stuff....

For the colour bleed problem (which is quite a well known thing) you need to buy a LumaFix64. It can be a bit fiddly to get right but the results are quite stunning. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Commodore-64-LumaFix64-Enjoy-image-with-less-stripes-using-LumaFix/382924462198 https://www.breadbox64.com/...

I have a spare one in need of a good home if you are interested. It has a slight blemish on the right of the space bar but otherwise in good condition.
