I don't suppose you (or anyone else) has a copy of the little loader screen that was on the original tape (same sort of loader as Pengo), just for completists like myself.

Re: XFER 4.0 sync string

I found I had the same trouble with the 5.25 drives if I do:

*SAVE TEST 0+FFFF

I get the Sector error message. So maybe there is some other reason for the error. (Saving 64K to disc in one lump)

Re: XFER 4.0 sync string

The latest is that the BBC-B has been updated with Watford DDFS 1.53.

However I am still having trouble with the 3.5 drives.
DSC07064.JPG
I noticed the drives do not have terminating resistors. Could that be a factor?

Re: Acornsoft Home Education ABC

I still couldn't figure it out even with the keystrip. Does anyone have the instructions? Maybe its not one of Acornsofts best offerings? I am guessing it came bundled with certain machines as the other side of the keystrip has the function keys for View.

Acornsoft Home Education ABC

Hi, While doing other things I have found the function key strip for the above ABC (Disk) but cannot seem to find a disk image online. I think maybe its a tricky title to do a search for. Anyone know a location of a disk image?

Thanks.

Do you need both ROMS for it to work? How is the functionality split across the ROMS?

Re: XFER 4.0 sync string

So are you winning? Or still stuck? Well I ended up on a diversion: The floppy drives for the BBC needed some attention. They are 3.5 inch drives and I thought they should get all put back together in their case rather than have an exposed power supply. Its then I realised that 8271 and 3.5 drives ...

Re: XFER 4.0 sync string

now I think it might be for some reason to do with the pc side needing to flush its output buffer.

I just looked through the code and I can see the negotiation always takes place at 1200 baud.

And it is a different prefix character each time.

Re: XFER 4.0 sync string

I suspect it is a baud rate issue as I just realised that the .ini file does not appear to be read.

I can set the baudrate to 1200 from the commandline.

Robico Banjax Cheat?

Do you know of any Banjax cheats? I used the Beebem debugger to discover one to stop the creepy-crawlies killing Banjax when they collide. I just need to fine-tune it as it was also stopping me picking up the bag and subsequent items. I need to fine tune it so that it treats the crawlies as inocuous...
