Re: Early Elite Version

That looks interesting :)

I'd have to guess (if it is genuine) , that it may have been a pre-release version that was sent to magazines for a feature maybe ? :)

Re: Game compatiblity with B, B+, B+128 and Master

I tried the Convert program a few times but did not have much luck with it.

Although to be fair, I have no documentation for the Welcome Disk...

I'l have to have another go over the Christmas break when I get free time :D

Re: Master Compact Elite

Ah ok thanks :D

That clears that up (as in confirmation there is a compact version) :)

I thought a bit after posting the topic, and remembered seeing (I think it was a B but could of been a Master) , with a hard drive and Elite, I suppose they used that version.

Master Compact Elite

Anyone know (I'm about 90% sure it exists) the version of Elite for the compact is ? I tried a search on here but did not find anything. Reason for asking, I'd rather it was in ADFS format (I tried manually moving it across from DFS > ADFS without luck) , its actually to try it on my econet, hence w...

heh

If you think it's yahoo slurp, you can always exclude it for a few days by adding a little bit to robots.txt...

Re: Hijacked?

I had to ban yahoo! slurp from my boards as it would take up to 30 or so sessions at once (appearing as up to 30 guests)

It may just be either that or another search engine has indexed that page (or is stuck on it)

Beebmaster has a section on something similar on the A5000, I am not familiar with the Archimedes though so I am not sure how relevant it will be but there is some good info (and some screenshots of the formatting tools) :) Here > http://www.beebmaster.co.uk/A5000SCSI.html And maybe here > http://ww...

The last time I cleaned a few machines (and a cheese wedge) , I carefully removed the PCB / Power Supply / Keyboard etc and then washed the case halves in warm water with a tiny amount of washing up liquid and a brush. I took the keyboard caps off and cleaned those in the same solution too. Everythi...

Just a follow up.

This was caused by a mis-match of early IC6 (2023)

The solution that worked for me (incase anyone finds this useful) ...

Remove the jumper from S26 (this appears to control the video inverse / normal setting) , connect the middle pin of what was S26 to pin 1 of IC10.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply :)

I just tried swapping IC5 and IC6 with known good ones, no improvement sadly :(

EDIT... I should add, the machine does work (I can load games and hear them) , I just have no display :D , so I am hoping it is not a memory fault ?

Help with 'b' only mode 7 works

I have here a nice (tape only) issue 4. However, only mode7 appears to work. I tested with RGB (using the same lead / monitor as I use for my M128) and there is no picture at all in any other mode. I quickly wrote this to check... 10 FOR A=0 TO 7 20 MODE A 30 FOR N=0 TO 100 40 PRINT "This is mode";A...

I asked a similar question elsewhere, as I had thoughts of taking a 1772 out of a (dead) M128 to use. But in the end I was unable to find a 1770 board diagram. But I have since ordered a 1770 kit (and a few other things) from CJE, although I have not heard back from them yet (apart from the "thanks ...

BBC B top case half

I need a top cover for a B please :) Just literally the top half of the case (screws would be good too as I seem to be lacking them) , I would prefer the perspex function key plastic too if possible.
