Beebmaster has a section on something similar on the A5000, I am not familiar with the Archimedes though so I am not sure how relevant it will be but there is some good info (and some screenshots of the formatting tools) :) Here > http://www.beebmaster.co.uk/A5000SCSI.html And maybe here > http://ww...

The last time I cleaned a few machines (and a cheese wedge) , I carefully removed the PCB / Power Supply / Keyboard etc and then washed the case halves in warm water with a tiny amount of washing up liquid and a brush. I took the keyboard caps off and cleaned those in the same solution too. Everythi...

Just a follow up.

This was caused by a mis-match of early IC6 (2023)

The solution that worked for me (incase anyone finds this useful) ...

Remove the jumper from S26 (this appears to control the video inverse / normal setting) , connect the middle pin of what was S26 to pin 1 of IC10.

:)

Hi, thanks for the quick reply :)

I just tried swapping IC5 and IC6 with known good ones, no improvement sadly :(

EDIT... I should add, the machine does work (I can load games and hear them) , I just have no display :D , so I am hoping it is not a memory fault ?

Help with 'b' only mode 7 works

I have here a nice (tape only) issue 4. However, only mode7 appears to work. I tested with RGB (using the same lead / monitor as I use for my M128) and there is no picture at all in any other mode. I quickly wrote this to check... 10 FOR A=0 TO 7 20 MODE A 30 FOR N=0 TO 100 40 PRINT "This is mode";A...

To be fair, I am not in a rush and I did order some other bits (that they have told me they have to order etc) , so I expect they are waiting for everything to arrive and some things were from 4D too. The email arrived today to explain and offer something else etc, so I am quite happy with the servi...

I asked a similar question elsewhere, as I had thoughts of taking a 1772 out of a (dead) M128 to use. But in the end I was unable to find a 1770 board diagram. But I have since ordered a 1770 kit (and a few other things) from CJE, although I have not heard back from them yet (apart from the "thanks ...

BBC B top case half

I need a top cover for a B please :) Just literally the top half of the case (screws would be good too as I seem to be lacking them) , I would prefer the perspex function key plastic too if possible. No problem if "ashtray" cover is missing. Old security marked one is ok, as that would be better tha...

Looking for an Acorn cheese-wedge case. No internals needed (although the back panel (power cable / switch etc) would be good)

Let me know if you have one you want to sell please :)

I`l try that later this week (have to dig it all out)

I`l get a pic or two as well of mine.
