Re: High score challenge - Round 2 - Chuckie Egg

I'm going to have a crack at this, some time this week - quite busy time for me atm tho so might not do that well! :/ However, just so I know - I tend to play CE with Rich's extra colour loader patch these days, as it's just a bit more colourful. Would using that class as an illegal modification? I ...

Re: Generally high prices for certain items on Ebay

I don't think this is going anywhere, and we certainly don't need to thrash the bushes demanding apologies from each other. The point has been well made, and equally well defended. Last chance, before I lock this topic for good. If your reply isn't about the topic in the subject and/or is purposely ...

Re: Generally high prices for certain items on Ebay

yes, that's not really helping the point I was trying to make. ;)

Let's keep the discussion focussed on the practice itself, instead of who's making the arguments, please ... otherwise, I'll just resort to locking this topic.

It's OK, martinw. I've had no request for the topic to be removed, though TheAtticBug is welcome to discuss it offline if they feel it's necessary (just email the Administrators as described in the Community Etiquette box at the top of the main forum). Though I think they've had enough support here ...

Re: Mr. Attic Bug

We do keep coming back to this topic and frankly I find the notion of being affronted by someone listing high prices on eBay somewhat bizarre. This is the very notion of capitalism. If something is priced crazily high it won't sell, and will probably get relisted. Anyway, this practice is hardly spe...

Hmm ... thanks for reminding me, jbnbeen. I'm afraid this one is now looking a bit dicey. I'm not sure the original organisers have managed to pull off the venue that week, and I'm pretty sure Arcadian is going to be away in foreign climes too! :/ I will move this topic into the past events, so it d...

Hi, Yep - it's explained in the welcome email, and there's also a message on the main forum page for every new user that PMs need a minimum number of posts before they can be sent. If people need to fast-track (e.g. they want to sell something and need to get people to PM home addresses), then just ...

Re: Boxed BBC Elite with all the 'stuff'

Interestingly, firthmj was telling me on the way up to Wakefield that he thought that his Superior version of the Elite function key strip was smaller than the original Acornsoft one, and fit in the Superior case without bending. Possibly also sized to fit a Master. I've never seen one before, but h...

Re: Wakefield Acorn Show / 20 April 2013 / W. Yorks

I think tonight everyone is going to be arriving throughout the evening, so probably best to just sort yourself out with food with whoever happens to be around. Tomorrow I'm sure we'll almost certainly walk down to the nearby pub for a lunch, as we've done in previous years. Then, we can ask around ...

Re: Lots of Hardware & Software

£500 really doesn't sound that unreasonable. You have to remember that we're living in a world where retro kit commands prices like this on auction sites. At the end of the day, stuff is worth what people will pay for it. It may be out of what you might consider a reasonable price range, but it's ce...

Hi, all. I've got some time off work so tomorrow morning (Weds 10 April) we will be upgrading the forum software. The site will be down for a period of time on that day so apologies for the outage. The room's not big enough to miss us I don't think. We'll be found around the Retro Software, Beebmaster etc. stands. you'll really have no problems but anyone who wants it is welcome to drop me a PM or email for my mobile number if you're reluctant to approach the RISC OS folk by mistake. :)

ah, yes. Don't think we saw a pic of the rear last time. That solves the long-standing G45 mystery, then. If only we could find an intact copy of that original 6502 disc version. :/ Real shame that you only got the original disc. I wonder if someone somewhere has the 6502 disc in an original box and...

I thought 6502 Second Processor Elite was still a legend? That may (or may not) have been the missing G45 in the Acornsoft Games range ... ? I didn't think any of us had actually found a copy of it. Think you got closest with that one you nabbed on eBay a while back, but that was just a sticker wasn...

Can we get an idea of what days people are staying over?

Tom and I are thinking of staying over for one night, but aren't sure whether to book in on Friday or Saturday night. How many other people plan to be there on Friday and Sunday?
