Re: Elite: Dangerous NPC name suggestions

well, my username is kinda covered already by the commander name. :)

Orlando M. Pilchard might be a nice nod. I wonder how many people playing would spot the reference. :)

I wonder if CheckOutAtomicElite would be acceptable?

Elite: Dangerous NPC name suggestions

OK, So as someone who kicked in some quids for Elite: Dangerous , as well as getting to reserve my Commander name, I also have the option of supplying a Non-Player Character (NPC) name: Your name forms part of the naming database (so your name will be one of those used randomly for non-player in-gam...

The general focus of the event is primarily RISC OS I think its fair to say, but then we turn up with all our 8-bit kit! its mainly a chance to meet forum members in rl and show off projects etc. There's usually a couple of p...

Play Expo / 12-13 Oct 2013 / EventCity, Manchester

This is a large-scale general games-related event and won't be everyone's cup of tea, but should still be OK for a mini-meetup for those going. Lots more info to follow, as it arrives. http://www.playexpo.net/playexpo.png Replay Events are proud to confirm the return of Play Expo to EventCity , Manc...

*. meet #2 / 1st week August 2013 / Stoke-on-Trent

The details haven't been finalised yet, but the second *. gathering this year is probably going to be a hardware hackfast event pencilled in for the 1st week of August at Bidds Entertainment Club in Stoke-on-Trent, original home of Byte Back 2009 , which may well include a Homebrew Coding Weekend to...

How long's a piece of string?

I probably wouldn't get your hopes up - it was only a comment I stumbled across last year after all.

I can't see any official mention of such a feature on the roadmap.

Hmm ... I'm not keen on supporting a paid-for app, just for the sake of it. Adding mods is always a pain - not necessarily the initial installation, but at upgrade time. I read that the next major revision of the forum software (3.2, I think) will include an official mobile style. I'd much prefer to...

Re: Private Messages, delay in sending?

I added a hack so that the body of the PM is included in the notification email. It sometimes trips people up, who reply back to the admin address - but not that often and I think the convenience of being able to store the PMs with your emails, if you want to search back through them without logging...

Giantkiller was also written by Peter Killworth, author of Countdown to Doom. I remember getting the chance to chat to him on the phone and by email, before he sadly passed away. He was a great chap.

Whilst I have some reservations about the kickstarter campaign, I think now that the pledges have been made and he has the money, it would be fairest to give David and Frontier the chance to deliver. There's no doubting either his or the studios' talent. Maybe they won't be able to live up the hype,...

Yes, it's normal.

Private Messages stay in your Outbox until they have been delivered (i.e. the recipient has read them), then they are moved to your Sent Items folder.
