Re: Electron piece for Retro Gamer

I wonder how many Electron games were significantly different to their BBC counterparts?
Exile was quite different having only 4 colours and being flip screen rather than scrolling.
Were their any others that differed this much?
Cheers!

Yes, I believe the Thrust type game from Minerva was called Caverns.

Sorry to resurect such an old post, but what the hell  There were in fact a surprising number of games made for the Archimedes range of machines, many of them have been forgotten in the mists of time. Enter the Realm X-Fire Quark Ballarena Dropship Inferno Spheres of Chaos (now released for...

That might require a lot of extra work on someones part keeping it up to date, which could quickly become a chore. Perhaps a happy compromise might be to have a message board setup (similar to the one used on TSTH since it is quite a nice one) and any game in development could have it's own thread, ...

I think the extra RAM of the Master or Sideways or Shadow RAM BBC B's will be a great help when sqeezing things into Mode 1 or 2 games, especially for games without scrolling or fast moving graphics (but I'm guessing from a non-programmers point of view here). Also, I think the lack of colours in Mo...

Strange, unless I'm missing something, he only has a 2/3 bedroom cottage for sale at the moment... If he is selling them on, then yes, I'll be interested to see how much they go for, but I won't mind. Good luck to him. I could never be bothered to go to the trouble of listing them separately, they'd...

Master version?

Since most people are using BBC emulators nowdays, is there any advantage in making these games make use of the extra ram in the BBC Master or B+ machines? Might allow the use of Mode 1 graphics. I ask this as I once (many moons ago) produced a mock-up of R-Type and Quazatron screens on the BBC in M...

.

No, a quick look at the picture shows it to be a disc game.
There are a couple of games on disc that have slipped onto the tapes list somehow.

FA:My entire collection of BBC software (190 games)

Hi,

I've decided to auction my entire collection of BBC software.
There are about 190 games on Disc and Tape.
I have no BBC to test them with so I've no idea if they still load.

No Starship Command?

Has no-one noticed the lack of Starship Command in the BBC article?
Surely it has to be in the top 100 if not the top 10!
Cheers!

I seem to recall that Helter Skelter used more colour on a BBC Master.
I could be mistaken though.
