Acorn Computing Magazine (formerly The Micro User)

Does anyone know where I can get pdfs or individual pages from Acorn Computing Magazine ? I've been reading the excellent Mad Hatter columns in The Micro User and noticed he continued writing for ACM. I've read a few from the following webpage but there are a good few missing: http://8bs.com/tmucove...

Re: Locks of Luck by Magus

I took your advice and started playing What's Eeyores and yes it is a bit easier to get started and also quite atmospheric and witty. I've solved a few puzzles but then got bogged down. The main problem with this game is that you need to examine things which don't appear in the text description, you...

Re: Locks of Luck by Magus

I see there's been some interest in this posting although not many comments. Has anyone, out of curiosity, had a go at the game yet ? I've solved a few puzzles but am bogged down again. I've even resorted to reading the adventure columns in the BBC Micro User and Electron User magazine but there are...

Re: Locks of Luck by Magus

You're right, it does sound like a stinker, particularly if there's no logic to the puzzles. It would be great if a few of us could play it though and maybe between us we'll get somewhere. I'll get a memory dump first and hopefully get a list of commands. I think I'll also play Rick Hanson from Robi...

Locks of Luck by Magus

I've just started playing Locks of Luck by Magus and after an hour I'm hopelessly stuck.
Does anyone have a hint sheet for the game ?

Re: Doom Trilogy

That's excellent, thanks for that. When I discovered there was a "Last Days of Doom" game the other day and tried to find it unsuccessfully through Google I was worried I'd never find it anywhere. I wonder how many they sold given it was 1990 (the last days of the beeb...). It's really great to find...

Re: Doom Trilogy

I've found Last Days of Doom in fsd format but I'll need to convert to ssd to run it in Beebem. Do you know if anyone has done this already? Otherwise I'll search the forum for ways of doing it myself

Re: Original BBC disks

Island Logic's music system can be found here: http://home.kindredintellect.com/beeb/Software/IslandLogic/ I remember going to a computer club in Washington, Tyne & Wear in the 80's where virtually all games were deprotected and distributed but the Island Logic Music System was one of the few that n...

Doom Trilogy

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the third in Peter Killworth's Doom trilogy ? I have Countdown to Doom, Return to Doom (on original bbc disk and dsd) but I can't get hold of Last Days of Doom anywhere. Looking at Topologika's site it would appear they only do educational stuff these days.

Lords of Time

It must be 20 years since I last played it but I think you have to take everything (as I recall take all tells you there's no allosaurus here).

Good luck with the rest of the game, it's in my top 3 all time greats!

Save state

As far as I'm aware, the only emulator offering a save state facility is "Beebem". Maybe they were using this.
As Tom Seddon seems to be one of the very few current beeb emulator programmers and I'm a big fan of his emulator, might I suggest he includes this facility in his next upgrade (please)?

Village of lost souls

It was supposed to be the first part of Robico's "Realm of Chaos" trilogy according to www.if-legends.org but its unlikely the other two parts were ever released. I remember playing the game back in the early 1990s under a different label on my old beeb and I managed to get as far as the endgame. As...

Anyone have a clue sheet for this (excellent) adventure ?
I'm stuck trying to put the fire out at the ramshackle hut.
