RH Electronics colour lightpen software?

For a friend I'm looking for the software that accompanied the RH Electronics colour lightpen. Original would be nice, or if anyone has read this in on a PC, that's ok too.

Or is it available for download somewhere? It doesn't appear to be on BBC lives for example.

Re: Retro Software: our first release - Zap!

Sadly, there isn't any source code - so you can have even more fun disassembling before you start experimenting  No, that's old and not fun any more. It was interesting in 1984-1986 but now it's just a drag. If the author doesn't have the original source any more, he would be in the best posi...

Re: Retro Software: our first release - Zap!

I can't see the video. Is there a non-flash one? (I don't want to install flash on my home PC)

And my main question, since the real fun with BBCs is experimenting and changing: is the source code included?

Re: ROM/RAM Expansion Boards for the BBC Micro

To continue in this topic: I have completed the assembler which now does most of what I want. There are still a few missing/incomplete features such as functions (macro's but not quite) and properly doing local labels in the assembly. Then also, semi-local labels, shared in a group of functions. Wha...

Re: ROM/RAM Expansion Boards for the BBC Micro

Perhaps making the OS also swappable would have worked, and putting sideway ROMs higher, partially overlapping the OS, swapping the OS in automatically when going via certain access points for example. That's pretty much what the Amstrad CPC does - though with that being a Z80 machine, the OS and s...

Re: ROM/RAM Expansion Boards for the BBC Micro

Would you say that you have all the (many and) various SWR boards yourself? Or at least a typical example from each of the erstwhile "major players"? Not any more. I realised a few years a go that I didn't want to have loads of stuff that wasn't going to be used, so I sold various bits again. Also,...

Re: ROM/RAM Expansion Boards for the BBC Micro

{retroclinic} 1) Direct Access - any write between &8000 and &BFFF goes to the RAM chip. This was used in things like the ATPL Sidewise board, and other similar ones like the Watford. 2) Paged Access - This is where the RAM must be Paged in using the ROM paging register before it can be written to....

bbcim0.95b8 & 0.105, bbclist 0.14, bbccom 0.72

I saw long ago that bbcim 0.95b5 is included in pkgsrc (e.g. NetBSD, DragonFlyBSD, Solaris), and I finally got round to updating it for that, with updated web/email adresses etc. Also some bugs removed, man page improvements and some little code cleanups. In the pkgsrc patches the interactive part w...

Re: MMC card software mods

moral of the story, i think your Opus Challenger DFS (?Opus EDOS v3.46?)sucks  try throwing that in the bin where it belongs with ADFS  The Opus Challenger rocks 8) It was the first disk system I used on a BBC micro, in 1995. Any other BBC disk system pales in comparison: Page at E00, bl...

Re: MMC card software mods

^^ yes :) I'm not into the Electron though (I wanted one in 1983, but really, the Electron sucks  ) ), and definitely not making hardware mods for it... (and I dislike ADFS too, I actually removed support for it in bbcim recently). So, which DFS did you use and which ROM image did you modi...

Re: MMC card software mods

(in the SuperMMC rom, DISC/DISK have been renamed to CARD/DMMC). I'd be interested in the time required for large files or diskimages... 1. I just changed *DISC/DISK to *DMMC, not *CARD, hence why it does transfer between the FSs (SD card to actual 51/4" & 31/2" floppys). There are 2 ROM images on ...

MMC card software mods

I've got a few of the new MMC interfaces (sirmorris' version) and I'm working on modifying the software. First I changed the filing system ID from 4 to 11 so the ROM + hardware can be used in a BBC with DFS. This was to be able to transfer files from a disk to the MMC instead of just messing around ...

Re: Fault finding index

For now, I want nothing from anyone, I am just asking if people think that such a list would be useful. Yes, it would. The trouble is, that you're probably not going to get much help/input. Take something else entirely for example: In the past (years ago) I asked for contributions to the BBC micro ...

Re: Brits who made the modern world

Downloaded it... and found a very poorly researched programme. 150.000 games sold while there were 150.000 BBC's sold? Give me a break. This is the same nonsense that appeared in the Guardian (2003) and was apparantly published later in a book. See the bbc mailing list (26 oct 2003) for my calculati...

Various BBC micro stuff

I'm still reducing the amount of BBC micro stuff I have, so have a look here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~swhs/sale/_home_computers/ If anything takes your fancy, email me and make me an offer and we'll work something out! (note: all located in the Netherlands, but I've listed approximate postage rates li...

Wanted: BBC hardware / ROM packages / educational software

L.S. A friend of mine will be visiting the UK in a few weeks and would like to try to get hold of some more BBC micro stuff. If anyone has some more unusual hardware, ROM packages, or educational software, please send me an email/PM with what you have and I'll send it on to my friend. He's already g...
