A couple more questions...please. 1) What would happen if I put the chip into a rom programmer and tried to read it...if it’s not a rom.... 2) What spec would I order for the decoupling capacitor.....is it 33uF.....voltage.....construction. 9FC6FF11-3C57-4789-A5C2-1010F507AED5.jpeg Thanks again Dave

Thanks for the info MJS,
I’ll be checking what I need and ordering bases to suit.
I may try reflowing, just in case I’m lucky, then change them one by one.

Re: Master 128 CMOS Fault
Hi folks,
I’ve checked the battery connections, belled out the tracks......all ok.
I’ve also swapped over the mainboard to my working master 128 and the problem is still present.
Is suppose I’ll have to replace the above IC’s one at a time....

Re: An alternative approach to CMOS/RTC/Battery replacements?
Hi there, I had the exact same thoughts with my Riscpc last month, I bought a couple of boards but the chips I had were too big to go onto the board, so put the idea to one side and built a couple of rough prototypes which worked a treat. I played with a couple of pcb design apps but could not get t...

Re: RiscPC video output failure
Thanks Phil,
I’ll start with checking the continuity under the board, if I can go that way I’ll have to look into purchasing the , pin vice, kapton tape and roadrunner wire, these are all new to me.
Thanks for the tips, the link to your repair will be a good reference.
Thanks
