Setting up dual drive from single drive and gotek (level of complexity?)

Hi, I've got a gotek (retroclinic) working nicely on my bbc and have noticed the odd 5 1/4 floppy drive on ebay. I was wondering how easy/ tricky it is to make a dual drive. Is it just the case of buying the right cable to connect the two up, or am I being stupidly optimistic? I've done quick a bit ...

Re: Simultaneous 2 player games

Great list, I've been introducing my twin boys to the joys of bbc gaming, but the games have to be joystick. Does anyone know which of the list allow for 2 player joystick? Or even a list of single player games that use joystick. Have seen thread saying how bbc didn't have many joystick games and wh...

Assembly Made Easy for the BBC Micro

I've searched on line and I can't for the life of me find a scanned copy of Assembly Made Easy for the BBC Micro. The only 1 I did find when I unzipped it was a different book. Does anyone have a scan that I could be linked to? Thanks Ralph

Re: Assembly lang programming - Exmon ROM

I'm now a bit baffled. My beeb is issue 2 with DFS 1.2. but when I open it up there are 3 ROMs, so I'm wondering which is the basic, number 2 or 3, any ideas?

Assembly lang programming - Exmon ROM

Hi, I've been learning assembly language to help teach it to my A level students and was wondering if anyone has any screen shots of Exmon I or II. Basis program - 1 line not understanding.. '@%=0' anyone?

Just been doing some basic programming and the line:
10 @%=0

Seems to make no difference if it's not in, there is no explanation and I can't find any in any of the books or through searching.

Can anyone enlighten me?

Would really put my mind at ease, just can't let it go?

Re: Trouble formatting a floppy .dsd on my Gotek

That's brilliant, will give that a go.

If I bought a floppy drive (just for fun and to show students) would this work as the gotek does at the moment ie load fine and able to delete files from but not able to format? Don't want to buy something I can't show working to students.
Thanks

Would a floppy drive work properly as well?
Thanks

Re: Trouble formatting a floppy .dsd on my Gotek

Thanks, stuck with using my wifes mac or completely locked down PC at work though. Not sure how to source the ROM either. Will just have to keep a blank .dsd and copy that whenever needing a new formatted disc.
Thanks for you help

DFS 1.20
Would this mean I can't format discs? I've been able to remove files using *DELETE **.
Not too big a deal, good to know I wasn't doing something wrong.

Trouble formatting a floppy .dsd on my Gotek

Hi I'm probably being super dense but I've been trying to format a floppy blank.dsd on my Gotek. I've copied the code exactly from the book (and every variation). I can write files to it fine but thought it would be also able to format discs on it. I've seen that mentioned. Any help appreciated as I...

Re: Writing basic on Raspberry Pi and converting to .dsd?

HI, thanks, I've been able to install BEEBEM on the Pi, I've created the blank .ssd, but have realised the version for Linux does not have the menu bar, so I'm unable to import txt to the disc! Was hoping to like using Linux but it's proving hard to use.
