Re: I2C 4 U

Hi all, I’ve managed to get the PWM working to allow dimming of the LED’s etc. I’m going to add a few more procedures to emulate the Adafruit library. Obviously this doesn’t run as fast on a beeb as an Arduino but that’s part of the fun. Martin, after checking all the code etc I’ve had PWM random l...

Re: I2C 4 U

James Just a thought - I’ve almost got the PWM working on the 16 channel servo card using leds at the moment. I’m basically recoding the Adafruit PWM library into Bbc basic. If you have the arm etc in CAD files I can cut acrylic / Perspex sheets 1200x900mm and up to 18mm thick so 3mm is a doddle. B...

Im going to put an order in for an RTC as well to have a play with.

It is just a 16k rom so you could happily run it from your sideways ram. (I could supply and blow a rom for you if you decide that I2C deserves a more permanent place in your Beeb.) Give it a try last night and it works. Tells me the date is somewhere in 1948 as I don't have an RTC  Just need ...

Re: Wanted: Heatsink for video ULA, or advice on modern replacement

Just thought I'd resurrect this and ask a question. I have the original heatsink on my Issue 3 and until the end of last year this has been in storage. a Re-capping and a clean and it runs better than it did when I was a kid! With one exception, i've recently noticed that the screen gets a bit screw...

All wired up and working. Of course, I haven't tested the keypad fully, but the top five buttons are performing as expected. IMG_1814.JPG I did get pins 14 & 8 the wrong way round, so when I tested, all the controls were reversed. Swapped them and all ok now. I've updated the diagram above to reflec...

There's a couple of programs to type in, one of which is for use with the adaptor. Really good info. Turns out mine is a Type 1a. I've often wondered why mine has no speaker grille but every other beeb i've ever seen has. It's never failed, and the space bar is dead straight. So. I re-read the instructions, which I hadn't done for a long time, rather than just focusing on the diagrams at the back. This explained how the additional buttons work. I took some pics of the internals and created a more detailed circuit diagram based on the board in the joystick, as well as re-...

Voltmace Delta 14/B

So I have one of these, and have done since I was a kid, but after years of storage, it has a broken core (maybe more) in the cable which causes my Cobra MkII to spin wildly out of control. Hey Tricky.

I tried this as recommended by you, and what can I say? It's brilliant!

I have noticed That I get a couple of not founds here and there and I have to kinda do a double shift-break to return to the menu, but apart from that, amazing work!

Hi.

Just thought I'd resurrect this thread as I use Beebem Mac as my emulator of choice, and have done for ages.

I'm happy to get involved. I'm an iOS developer by trade, but happy to get involved on the Mac side. I don't know how much I can offer on the Beeb side, but I'm happy to learn.

Re: Possibly a stupid question about the Gotek

To expand briefly on jghartson's reply, DFS versions prior to 1.00 (e.g. 0.90) were released on their own on an 8k ROM. From version 1.00 onwards, they were released on a 16k ROM, which included NFS and the TUBE software. Hence DFS 1.2 is actually DNFS 1.2 . See http://mdfs.net/System/ROMs/Filing/D...

Re: Possibly a stupid question about the Gotek

Disk fault 10 is 'drive not ready', which is a typical problem with 8271 DFS and 3.5" drives. The gotek is "pretending" to be a 3.5" drive. I believe there is a congifuration setting on the Gotek to do a "hardware fix", alternativelty use DNFS 1.21/1.22 which implements a software fix. is DNFS a dr...

Possibly a stupid question about the Gotek

HI. I've just got a gotek, and flashed it with FlashFLoppy and it all seems to work fine on the Beeb. Next step was to integrate it into my Opus Dual housing. this also seems ok, I can access the Gotek as drive 0 and the 2nd floppy as Drive 1. All good. I used Beebem4 on the Mac to create a blank SS...

The beeb can have two double sided drives, so it would replace one of your existing drives. I was thinking that I might be able to pull a drive out of the dual housing and replace it with a gotek, which would be really nice. I'd need to look at how I can install a switch so swap the gotek and the o...
