This is probably the only 8 bit computer that have a true full doom port running.
Even is in 8 colors, very impressive.

Re: Should i get an A3000 or a RISCPC ?
Purchased this ide podule:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Acorn-A300 ... 3404212927
It's quite expensive for only an ide interface but i don't whan't to miss out on it and have to live a floppy only life.

Re: Mystery Zener Diode
From the schematic it look like is a protection diode, will start conducting current at certain threshold and shortening to ground.
Maybe this was the reason is so hot, by removing it this could let the current pass and fry something else ?.

Re: Should i get an A3000 or a RISCPC ?
Ok pushed in a couple of ebay auctions. One is a RISCPC that was for me conveniently located in the US but lost it the price was to high. But ended up winning an auction in uk for a a3000 4 megs ram that have the battery redone having pictures from the inside and is tested and seem to be en very goo...

Re: Should i get an A3000 or a RISCPC ?
I think it's worth considering Steffen's point, if you're not bothered about the exact 'retro-experience'. A Pi of any flavour, even a basic Zero, will run ADFFS, which will allow you to run boatloads of games - not just those which are Risc PC onwards. Of course, if you want the exact 'look' hardw...

Came out a risc pc but belive they were designed for archimedes range like a310. So if you get an a310 and need an IDE podule well fire me a pm Thanks for the...

Yes i'm going to try to get an A310, look like the most interesting option.
Seem that all that run on the RISCPC should run fine on the Raspberry PI ?.

Re: Should i get an A3000 or a RISCPC ?
Going to try to get an A3000, the problem is that purchasing them on ebay is like playing russian rulete. They are all "untested" no pictures of the insides, and i have seen pictures and videos about the internal battery that seem to completely destroy the boards. The other issue is that m...

Very interesting software there to transfer programs.
If i am unable to work out the windows disk writer software will try this option.
What i don't see on the web page is a schematic to build the cable.
