Re: Cheap SD/MMC Readers

I've always wondered what the differences are between these two devices to try to determine what are the pros and cons.

Re: Elk disc controllers

One thing I did notice with superform on the Elk that creating new LUNs results in a slightly different LUN size on the SD card from the quick start LUN. E.g. Quick Start LUN: 524,140 KB, while creating LUNs with superform results in 524,172 KB. Why go to all the trouble of creating LUNs - I just c...

I'm not sure if the BUG affects the BeebSCSI (anyone know?) I've not seen it - but there again I've not been looking for it!! Not seen it myself as well. Likewise I've not been looking for it. Re: Elk disc controllers

I like to use sub-dirctories on disks, I thought that ADFS would make thisd possible. But reading the forum with regards to ADFS, there are some that do not like it. There are directories in DFS in a limited way. Directories The directory is a single character used to divide the catalogue into inde...

The E00 electron ADFS needs to be loaded into two banks of sideways RAM, but doesn't have SCSI support.
Always wondered how you can set that up automatically to happen from boot.

Re: BBC B Elite versions

Hi there! I'm quite a newbie BBC Micro user. Bought a Beeb B with an SD card adapter that connects to the User port and uses MMFS. I tried 4 different versions of Elite: two was "preinstalled" in the MMB file, original Elite and some Tube version... in case of both, when I would jump to another sys...

Re: Elk disc controllers

Hi, What is the best version of ADFS that can be used on the Pegasus board? Acorn ADFS v1.0 works fine with Pegasus. I have this and works fine. There is PRES E00 ADFS v3.31 Rom https://www.stairwaytohell.com/roms/homepage.html , but I don't know if it works with the Pegasus as I've never tried it....

B+ DFS & ADFS versions for PAGE E00

I'm trying to work out which are the correct versions of Acorn DFS & ADFS for the B+ to have PAGE at E00. I'm looking at this page http://mdfs.net/System/ROMs/Filing/Disk/Acorn/ . I believe the correct version for ADFS is 1.31 (ADFS131E00). For DFS I know the last version is 2.26 (which I have) and ...

The PiCopro works fine with the Elk, but you'll have to write/modify your own software to take advantage of it :)
Disk (and co pro) version of Elite for Elk!
Solved that problem by getting a BBC B+ and Pi-Zero based Co-processor. A bit extreme, but works a treat. :D

Re: Elk Expansion Options?

Going further, if you want to be a bit more flexible then adding a proper disc interface (e.g. Pegasus 400 or AP3/4) will let you attach a gotek floppy emulator with the free flashfloppy firmware on it. That's the most compatible option. If you just want to play games, davejhitchins also does the m...

GoSDC with the cartridge adapter will work for you.

Alternatives would need additional hardware like the AP5 http://www.acornelectrontoday.com/pres- ... 4594060136 or Electron UPURS https://www.retro-kit.co.uk/page.cfm/co ... RAM-board/

If you don’t have a Plus 1, then there is the GoSDC. http://www.zeridajh.org/hardware/gosdc/index.htm You will need the Elk2GoSDC adaptor to fit it as well. Alternatively, there is this SD card interface which works just as well and is cheaper https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fww...

Can you add a photo of the disc / box?
It's a disk image I came across and not from physical media.

It either came on the USB stick that came with the Gotek I purchased from RetroClinic, or I downloaded from somewhere (StairWayToHell???). I really don't remember.

I came across a disk for the BBC with Elite and was surprised to find it had three versions of Elite e.g. Standard, Sideways RAM and second processor. I don’t have one of these devices but I would think you should create some blank disk images in the Beeb.mmb first.
