Re: What do we think of this?

I watched his video in interest as well and I kept thinking for the Beeb and Elk how would it deal with sideways ROM\RAM? It's not just a case of mapping the memory map to ROM or RAM, but paging in ROMs as well.

My other thought, for the Elk, is could it be used to improve memory access speed?

Re: Electron: Faulty, looking for help please :)

I'm no expert on this, but I would think there's a problem with the ULA, or poor connection between the ULA and its socket.

I'm sure Dave H will be along soon to help.

Re: Manic Miner (Electron)

Managed to find some time today to test again. ElectrEmWin32v06c, with uef, worked fine today. Made sure that all disc options were disable before testing. Elkulator, with uef file, works, but I get a continuous whistle after a while. By chance it seem to happen when Elkulator loses focus. Bug in El...

I know that these are not for sale at the moment, but I would like to get one or two built for my Electrons and Beeb. I see that PCBway also can assemble as well as print boards. I have some questions to understand how to order\build:- Which version of the "hat" board to build for BBC B+ a...

Thanks for playing/testing! Can you reproduce these 2 things, so I can possibly reproduce and fix them? Did you try the latest version v0.08b? And on what operating system?
Downloaded from your GitHub page this afternoon. Running on Windows 10.

I’ll try them again tomorrow.

Re: Manic Miner (Electron)

Great work! =D> First time I’ve ever played this game! I saw so many people playing it on their ZX Spectrum’s back at the computer club I attended in the early 80’s. Never knew it came out on Beeb. I played it on the Elkulator, and at some point it started making whistling noise. Also I noticed it d...

Same here - I found it fascinating, especially when I figured out how it worked. But it was not much practical use really, more of a learning experience! I still have the manual actually. Electrem needs an update. There are some issues running on Windows 10, but still useable. Had thought about having a go to update the compatibility, and also porting it to C#. Normally owners of issue 4 Electrons report that the picture is darker compared to that from an issue 6 Electron or a BBC B or B+ Mark Yes, the ssue 4 Electron does have a darker picture. RGB output differences between Electron and B+

I have two Electrons (issues 4 & 6) and a BBC B+, and I have them connected to a Samsung 2033 HD TV Monitor. With both Electrons the characters are not completely white on the boot screen, there are some pixels which are grey. With the B+ the characters are are completely white. I’m using a RGB ...

What TV/Monitor model are you using? Many have a way of connecting analog audio, even when HDMI is being used. Samsung 2033HD (TV\Monitor). BTW, with the Scart picture, even with the picture size set to 4:3, doesn't fit vertically https://stardot.org.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=21625 , but HD...

I've been considering buying the RGB to HDMI using a Pi Zero for my Acorn computers, instead of buying a cheap scart to HDMI, but I'm holding back buying either as I want to add audio to the HDMI. The cheap scart to HDMI looks like it supports it, but from the documentation of RGB to HDMI using a Pi...

Hotel mode was off, so that wasn’t it. Also edited the source name to PC and that doesn’t fix it. I’ll get hold of a Scart to hdmi converter to see if that’ll work.
