Re: IDE->SD/CF Adapters (What works and what doesnt)

Thanks for the replies. The CF to IDE adapter doesn't ship to the Netherlands, so I purchased another one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CF-Compact-Flash-to-3-5-40-Pin-Male-IDE-HDD-Converter-Card-Adapter-Bootable/252770684368?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 that looked similar...

Retromancave did a nice review of the X68000 a few months ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OepeiBF5Jnk Prior to watching this I hadn't heard of the X6800 either. There's also a follow up video where he visits a friend who owns rather a lot of X6800s, imported from Japan. https://www.youtube.com/...

Re: IDE->SD/CF Adapters (What works and what doesnt)

Apologies for posting to an oldish thread but I thought this might be the best place to ask my question. I have a RiscPC (running RO 4.02) with a failing hardisk. I do have a spare 400Mb hardisk I could use in it's place but who knows how long that disk will last for, so I thought the time had come ...

I don't have an FPU to test, but wouldn't programs written in BASIC take advantage of the FPU if they were run with BASIC64 or compiled with ABC?

Re: help, price value of Electron

For reference, I bought two electrons from eBay during the summer. I paid £34 for a boxed electron with manuals, power supply and cables. The electron works fine and is in great condition. The box cover was a little torn. The second electron cost £52 and came with a Plus 1 and a power supply. This e...

Re: PiTubeDirect on an Electron

I have tried this and it does work. I used a pi zero with a level shifter from kjell. However, I moved house shortly after getting my AP5 and my electron’s been in storage ever since so I haven’t really tried out much software yet. I think all I did was switch between some of the various co-processo...

Re: RPCEmu 0.9.0 and Macs - beta testers wanted

I've just tried V3 of the patch on High Sierra and it seems to be working fine. I haven't done a whole lot of testing other than booting RO 3.71, launching a few of the pre-installed apps and running one small binary copied into the emulator using HostFS, which seems to be working fine. I also tried...

a spectrum 128k toastrack. It actually arrived about 6 weeks ago but has been packed away until recently. It's oddly beautiful in it's own way, and some of the spectrum games are great. Really enjoying R-Type, Castlevania: Spectral Interlude and Rebelstar.

These dates are good for me as well. Incidentally, I'll be flying into LHR from Schipol and will be pre-booking a taxi to take me to and from the venue. Anyone else from the Netherlands interested in coming would then have transport to and from the venue, providing they book the same flights as me.

RiscPC PC Card

I've just acquired a PC card and am amazed at how well it works and how nicely it integrates with the RiscPC. Re: Electron key colours

When the wobbly electron arrived from eBay it was missing one of its feet. I bought a replacement from eBay ( not from Retroclinic ) and everything seemed fine. It wasn’t until I inserted the ap5 that I noticed the wobble. The feet on the electron and the ap1 are all worn to a different extent. I’m ...

Electron key colours

I brought my just-in-case electron down from the attic today and put it beside my main electron to compare the feet of the two machines. My main electron wobbles a little when the AP5 is inserted so I wanted to see if the just-in-case electron wobbled as well, which it didn't. The two electrons have...

I made the modifications to the win file and the game now starts up fine and is playable. But I'm unable to get the save dialog to open, even though I also made the modifications to 28CB0. And the RAM disk trick works fine. The game plays really well under ADFFS. I just need to remember to copy the saved file from the RAM disk before turning off the computer. Thanks again.

Wow, not something that can be fixed with a quick search and replace then. I did manage to image my disks and get the game working on the A3000 using ADFFS. The only problem is I haven't figured out how to save my position. It will only let me select the floppy drive when saving, which is I guess is...

Re: Running Wonderland from a hard disk

Thanks for your reply. I tried naively replacing the harcoded SCSIFS::4 and ADFS::4 strings in the win1 binary with IDEFS::4, taking care not to modify the size of the file. The game still crashes in the same way. I guess it's crashing before it reads these strings, perhaps due to the first issue yo...

Running Wonderland from a hard disk

Hi All, I'm trying to get Magnetic Scroll's Wonderland to run from harddisk (IDEFS CF card) on my 4MB ARM2 RISCOS 3.11 A3000. The game runs fine from the floppies but the disk swapping is really tedious. The game comes with an installation program which seems to correctly copy all the files from the...
