Is it worth running the ZIDEFS module through !Armalyser to discover the extent of the problems?

Re: IDE interfaces - hardware details

I haven't tried this as I only use RO4.39 and RO6 on my RiscPC but does ZIDEFS show up under *ROMMODULES or *MODULES? Just wondering whether it's getting unplugged for some reason? Also, it might be worth asking about this over on community support section of the RISC OS Open Forum: https://www.ris...

RPC600 and weird colours at boot

I am new with RiscPC and Riscos over 3.11, and maybe it's some silly error by myself, but after a few days working on the RP600 i bought from a stardot's user, i got wrong colours at boot, and the right one's only after an "apply" to the same screen: at boot: bootcolor.jpg after change screen (eithe...

the photo was taken after some soldering pass on the xl9572 and there was a bridge, but it's not that the failure. I found that the pins that go short are the two connected to C5, but only after a few seconds the boad is powered! Then, after cooled and disconnected, the shorts disappear... May be th...

The correct soldering iron bit looks like this:
__1.jpg

It's huge compared to the pins, but that doesn't matter. Don't try to solder each pin individually. And don't use a fine pointed bit.

Re: RGB to HDMI using a Pi Zero and a small CPLD

Do you mean you damaged it trying to solder it in? Or there were shorts that destroyed it? Maybe posting a photo would help us understand and offer better advice. I probably made some short in soldering, and burned IC (literaly... with red lamps and smoke!) when power on the BBC and flashing with x...

Re: Making a digital joystick for the beeb

Sorry to keep going on! On a beeb joystick, the fire button only connects to 0v so for a two button stick you only need: 1.8v, ch0, ch1, 0v, fb0 and fb1. I don't know the joystick you are talking about, so it might want 5v for something else or I could just be completely wrong! I'm pretty sure on m...

Re: Making a digital joystick for the beeb

It was i thought... Then tried the schematics found in the old article posted above, and added the resistor... You are surely right, anyway my mod now works too

And, i had only 6 wires in the voltmace cable... And 5v is needed for fire buttons (I don't know if 1.8v is enough for pullling button..)

I'm just happy that you got them both working. How many PCB's did you get made, are you going to populate them and sell any? I've a A3000, a A4000 and a A5000, so i made two 8 bit and one 16 bit boards. I had to order 10 PCBs for each version, so I had some left and maybe l'll populate one or two m...

Re: IDE interfaces - hardware details

The front HD LED is wired into the internal IDE port, so it would be difficult to make it flash for the podule access. You could wire up the front power LED to the podule, then depending on the which way round you connect the wires, the LED will be on or off when the drive is accessed. So you could...
