Re: BBC MICRO loading from cassette problem

Hi guys. Just to close this thread. It was the lead after all. I got the new lead and it's loading perfectly fine. So no need for a new chip. I'd just like to say many thanks for all your help and advice. It's great to know there are people out there who love the Beeb. :) =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> :D

Re: Where to get a none yellowed case - retrobright?

Hmm..

Not sure if want to do that. I don't want to be at home to Mr.Cockup as they say.

Is it worth asking on here if someone has a case ready done?

Re: BBC MICRO loading from cassette problem

Ah... okay. Thanks.

I'm now thinking I've got the wrong type of cable. I'm sure I used to use it with my beeb... Grr!

That would be embarrassing.

Where to get a none yellowed case - retrobright?

Hi there.

My beeb has a bit of yellowing and wondered if anyone would know where I could find a nice clean one?

Or, I now and then see some that have been 'retrobrighted'

Is this a thing, a product? Can I do it or is it something to be done by a specialist?

Thanks

Re: BBC MICRO loading from cassette problem

Wow... Thanks guys. Its been a good 30 years since I used a cassette loader so this has been a relearning exercise. I've ordered a new cable anyway but would love to get an original type as shown in the pic above. I've got a feeling it is the cable but it's all sealed up so I can't see what's going ...

Re: BBC MICRO loading from cassette problem

Hi guys. That's great thanks for all your help so far. Yesterday I managed to load Repton but it wouldn't get past block 20. I tried Frak but that wouldn't even get past the header block. I then tried Thrust which worked with only one hic-up. So out of curiosity I cleaned the plug lead ends with som...

Re: BBC MICRO loading from cassette problem

Thanks guys.

I've just got the first program on the welcome cassette to load but it's taken ages and I've been hearing the relay click quickly a few times too..

I keeps getting, and Data?, Block? messages.

Can someone point out where to buy the IC from and where its located on the board?

CUMANA QFS board HELP!

Hi all. I've recently acquired a BBC with a Cumana QFS disk system. I've looked at the instructions for this but its very vague. Could someone tell me where the chip (which has two wires going back to the daughter board) fit? It's currently in IC86 but I can't find a reference to the chip in the ins...

Superior Software Posters

Hi all.

Does anyone remember sending off for posters by Superior Software.

They were Crazee Rider, Codename Droid and Palace of Magic and Ravenskull.

I'm looking for the Codename Droid poster but can't find one anywhere.

They were printed by Impact posters in Sheffield.
