Re: New version of Centipede for the BBC Micro (in progress)

DFS and ADFS check for filing-system specific commands such as *ACCESS . Then, if it's not one of those, they behave as though you'd typed *RUN FOO. NFS natively recognises a tiny handful of commands like *I AM and *BYE (is that the lot?). Other commands, it passes to the fileserver, which can impl...

The star command version only works with things like ROMs and disks, not tapes.
I'm sorry my BBC ROM dyslexia is pretty poor I understood that you could only run * commands on things that were setup to run these commands in (loaded) ROMs? :?

It's a bit of a shame actually because I can't think of a lot of stuff I've got in my pad that didn't come from Maplin. :? They're just down the road from where I live, funnily enough so was the BBC Micro fella who got me my current Beev just opposite Streatham Common

Re: Would it be possible to build website on a BBC Micro?

Slightly OT now; I think I found the perfect setup for my website development work. I use my PC just to do the actual typing up with my friend the iPad showing the resulting site. Here you can see I am working on a very tasteful yellow site at the moment. The nice thing about it is how s...

Re: Would it be possible to build website on a BBC Micro?

http://mdfs.net/  Mark Thanks Mark! 8) I had a quick look at this, I think the flavour definitely tastes different to a regular PC/Macintosh site. I was loving the JSW Remakes section of the site. I think it's really amazing some of these sites are still going. I was one of the Spectrum kiddi...

Re: Would it be possible to build website on a BBC Micro?

Something like Wordwise Plus would write the code for websites - HTML, CSS, ASP, JSP, PHP, you name it. All is needed is a text editor. Damn  now I'm beginning to regret I threw away that WordWise ROM although to be fair my system is all IFEL / ROM / RAM board based so I think I would need an...

Would it be possible to build website on a BBC Micro?

Hi, Just one of my stupid maybe not so daft ideas I dunno!? Can you use the BBC Micro to actually code websites to then transfer the code to a modern PC for display? i.e can you use the built-in BASIC editor to edit the code with? 'cause if you think about it the web sort of started on a BBC Micro, ...

Me too I'm quite glad I've kept my Beeb. To be honest the second beeb was only really for testing Sideways RAM issues I was having with Kieran Mockford's The Hobbit Graphical. I loved ZX Spectrum Hobbit as a kid and really wanted to see this in all it's glory working on the Beeb. Turns out it was so...

Yes I know. I'm gonna freak everbody out every time I go Bee-Beep on my BBC Micro. Santiago will stop driving their cars, stop buying their last minute Christmas shops, stop telling their children off, stop talking and start staring at the direction of my little flat wherever I live there in Santiag...

Dear All,

A little while ago I discussed going to Chile for good.
That plan fell through and I will remain UK bound for the forseeable future.
This is why it scares me going there

Windows Remake of Elite any thoughts?

Hi guys, Just seen this on facebook "Retro Games Forever" group about Oolite by Giles Williams & Jens Ayton (Windows) . Some folks seem to be really praising this game. With so many recent coments on Ian Bell vs. David Braben, Elite versions, I'm surprised this Oolite never came up? -Pablo
