Here's my season 10 selection - includes some I suggested before but weren't chosen to play (I hope this is OK?):

Vertigo (Superior Software)
Road Runner (Superior Software)
The Mine (Micro Power)
Of course it's ok, as long as it isn't in that list it's ok to choose.

Re: Season 10 Game Nominations

Would love to play through POP but is there a way to compare scores? how about remaining time?, you only get 60 mins. There are some platform games that are conducive to the HSC here but I believe the POP is not one of them. There is another reason why it's not conducive. Not everyone has a Master ...

Welcome Peter. This is the best forum you could be on but there is also a FB forum. https://www.facebook.com/groups/AcornAndBBCMicro/ I'm in Western Canada in Squamish. There are two of us in the general Vancouver area that have formed the ABUG Canada West group and we've met twice so far. I expect ...

I can confirm. You could drive a bus through on the Beeb, but the master is almost no gap.
I see what you did there!
That's funny. I had to get a good night's sleep to get it.....

Ah, so he has. Funny, you don't have to do that on a Beeb. Are they that much different in the tolerances?

Re: Advice on internal Datacentre 1MHz bus cable installation?

If you look at various installations on eBay that Mark sells, you'll see how he does the cabling as he puts quite a bit of detail in his sales. It will become quite clear how to do it for the cable. You don't need to cut any holes to make this work. For the USB port, yes, on a Master, some small cut...

Re: Season 10 Game Nominations

Would love to play through POP but is there a way to compare scores? We can choose new/old but the game has to make sense for the competition. POP doesn't work for the HSC platform, sorry, great game though. We did play While Light a season or 2 ago, it's new.......and a wonderful game. That's an e...

New Master Setup

Hi Folks,

I've now got a new location and setup for my Master computer. I've also put my books and some of the diskettes above the location on a shelf as it just makes more sense than having it used on top of a couple of TV stands.

Anyway, here's a pic.

Re: Need help figuring out how to fix a couple of Beeb PSUs

For isolation from the mains supply (which is referenced to neutral, and hence to earth / ground), use a 1:1 ratio "isolating" transformer. The transformer should have a VA rating at least 15% greater than the wattage of the Beebs PSU. Yes, the next step is to carefully remove the PSU from the Beeb...

Re: Need help figuring out how to fix a couple of Beeb PSUs

Along with what MartinB says, BITD I had some of these transistors crack the soldered joints under the PCB. Reflowing the solder solved the problem then. Hi John..... I will remove the MB and reflow in whatever spots I can..... it's likely something like that..... simplest issues first I guess. Ed....

Re: Need help figuring out how to fix a couple of Beeb PSUs

Assuming it’s not the fuse (you’ve checked?), when these PSU’s were re-capped, did you also change the start-up capacitor, C9? If it’s not the fuse and C9 is ok, it /might/ then be the main switching transistor, Q2 (a vertically-mounted TO3 case) but this is a little more of a job to test and then ...
