Re: Matrix Brandy BASIC V for Linux with SDL: V1.21.16 released

I've done some testing in RPCEmu with several versions of RISC OS but couldn't get it to crash.
One thing it could be. Are you running brandy from a task window? Best to run it by double-clicking the executable.
The SDL version is 1.2.15.

Re: Matrix Brandy BASIC V for Linux with SDL: V1.21.16 released

I forgot to mention older versions of RISC OS need the wimpslot setting. Just drag 'Next' to 2MB in Tasks before running brandy.

Re: Matrix Brandy BASIC V for Linux with SDL: V1.21.16 released

Sure. The download is at https://www.riscosports.co.uk/matrixbrandy.zip.

There is both the SDL and RISC OS native version and also versions for RISC OS hardware containing VFP.

Just to report that the 1.21.16 version builds and runs OK on RISC OS on a RPi. Both the original RISC OS and the SDL version.

Re: MMFS Development and Support

So you should be able to get this working now by just updating from git, and doing a complete re-build of the Xilinx, and running the ROM scripts. This takes a while, because the Xilinx build enables all the possible features (SID, Music 5000, 6502 Co Pro and ICE T65 debugger), so it's literally 10...

If the bank is not writeable, you would atually get a Card? error.
It doesn't show up at all in banks 4-7. Games that use swram seem to work ok. I can also wipe the banks with RAM Master.

Re: MMFS Development and Support

Are you using the "release build" of BeebFPGA, or one you have built yourself from source? What bank are you loading MMFS into, and how? I built the bit file from the latest source available from Github. I tried various rom positions by altering the 'make_rom_image.sh" script. Does it need to go in...

I've been trying out the latest version of MMFS built from the github source on BeeFPGA in BBC mode on a Papilio Duo. The non swram version works fine but the swram version results in just 'Card?' for any command.

Smart SPI has the ability to change MMB files. If this could be added to MMFS that would be great.

A big improvement on the Papilio duo. =D> All the games I've tried work ok in BBC mode. Not tried Master mode yet.

One minor thing. The speech in Citadel, Repton 3 and Superior Speech is really quiet and a bit scratchy.

Re: Beeb FPGA

I'm having a weird problem in both BBC and Master mode. Random pixels appear on the screen. During gameplay they affect collision detection in the game. Bullets get blocked or walls appear/disappear. Repton 3 seems to be affected the most. This is on a Papilio Duo. Mode 7 doesn't seem to be affected.

Does MMFS have the ability to swap MMB files like SmartSPI? If not could it be added. [-o<
