Re: Pegasus 400 - Electron Disc Interface - Now available - 19-07-21

Separately, how much would it take to produce a version that plugs directly into the Elk expansion port? Cant help thinking that there are owners who would like to use the likes of a GOTECH but cannot not get hold of a plus 1. They can use a Minus One. That plugs directly into the expansion connect...

BBC Modem 84

I bought this modem because I can use the case for a new project. I probably cannot use it so for me only the case is suitable. However, it is in such a mint condition that I feel bad about destroying it before offering it here. Price €22,50 plus P&P (shipping world wide). modem-3.jpg modem-2.jp...

It had been a long time ago since I got my last wasp sting. On the other side, I daily receive mosquito bites. And each and every bite has more side effects than both my covid-19 jabs

That's offered two post above yours

Perhaps you can combine the shipment to the Netherlands, especially if there are other Dutch members interested. I'm not interested in this one because I already have a Tube and RAM expansion for my Electron.

Re: Plus3 problem

Yes, I have cleaned the female edge connector. I also used some sand paper to make the contacts blank again. The silly thing is that I could read the rom until today. Things were getting better but it suddenly stopped working again. We’ll see what the effect is of replacing ic3.

Re: Plus3 problem

The reset line is fine. When BREAK is pressed, it goes low and back high after BREAK is released. The Elk does also hang when the ROM and FDC are removed and IC12 is fitted. When I remove IC12 then the Elk is working fine. However, when I connect the Plus1 to this setup, the Elk is hanging again. Th...

Re: Plus3 problem

Today I switched on the power on my "work bench" and I picked up an Electron that was located on top of my other Electron. Then I heard a normal start-up beep on the Electron. I switched on the monitor and it had "Acorn ADFS" on the screen \:D/ My problem is related to the start ...

Re: Plus3 problem

There's no difference in the boot with or without the resistor. It's ADFS 1.00 (the original ROM).

I even doubt whether the ADFS even polls the 1770 because I can't see any pulses on the cs line of the 1770 after a reset. When I do a continuous read of &FCC5 I do see pulses.

It might be worth trying a 4K7 pullup on D0 on the 1770 (i.e. that side of the data bus buffer).
What do you see if you run the following:
Either with or without the resistor I get 5A FF which are the values that I expect to read.

Re: Plus3 problem

Now I have reached a situation that I don't quite understand. I have replaced both IC9 and IC12. Since the 28 pin socket did show some corrosion I replaced them also. Now I have put the thing back together but the Electrons still doesn't recognise the ADFS ROM. No banner at power on or CTRL+BREAK. H...

This, however, worked! Can't believe I didn't think of it. So far every game I've tried boots like this, although playing them is another matter entirely due to the crazy keyboard - the controls on Snapper, for example, appear to be 3 for left, G for right, - for down and Q for up  You have th...

Re: Plus3 problem

For some reason I completely missed your answers  I made a note on my diagram that pin 2 of the 74LS74 was always high and that pin 6 is also always high. On pin 3 there are (clock) pulses. So there must be something wrong with that flip-flop. I'd expect pin 6 to be low if there's a high D inp...

Plus3 problem

I recently got a Plus-3 for my Electron but unfortunately it does not work. After power on, the Electron displays just a block pattern on the screen but starts to work normally after I press CTRL+BREAK. I can live with that. However, the Electron works a bit too normally because it does not print an...

Re: EF9345 based video card

I have converted the sources to text files so you can easily read them or convert them to beebasm or whatever. JVDU0.0 is a very straight forward driver that supports only a basic 80/40 column mode without using (m)any features of the EF9345. Lacking those features makes this driver very fast. This ...

Your program has to be short enough to run within one VSYNC cycle or must count the cycles but that takes time. Benchmarking the calculation of 1000 Pi decimals in Basic won't work here  But a simple counter loop should be working.
