Interesting to read you. My own small experience with British Uni dates from 1995. After graduating with difficulties (although I had a baccalauréat, section D (biology, physics, maths in that order) I spent 2 years afterward studying Law, at the Uni, not the best to keep one's knowledge in Mathemat...

I do not know what the Simtec board uses but I can guarantee I have 2 partitions about 500 Mbytes each with a 1 Gbyte CF card.
I wonder if it is not with Simtec you can get up to 8 partitions ...

Slip of the tongue, just watching video about 68000, although some argue that is really 32 bit and not 16.
Link please, can be interesting if instructive.

Re: A3000 - No video
Excellent price, really ! You don't need any software for the ARM3 when running RO 3 : if you want to slow down your machine just press F12 and CACHE OFF then ENTER CACHE ON will set the cache on again Any DP software will do that with the mouse, it installs on the icon bar and most of the time you ...

Re: A3000 - No video
I will add that with an ARM3 fitted you should not see a black screen when accessing the diskette drive when in VGA mode. This means you have RO 2 fitted : it doesn't know you have a CPU with cache, and you need a small app to turn it on. Not the case with RO 3 where by default if you have an ARM3 i...

No worries. xltardy Xavier Louis Tardy and I use gmail. For your mouse socket did you neutralize the leaking with vinegar ? Do it, then let it dry a whole day. Then spray a special electronic contact spray. Again let it dry (you can shake the whole machine to get rid of the excess of fluid) then see...

No additional ROM fitted (next to the RO roms) which might contain a locker ?
Are you really sure you had a no boot and still it was greyed out ?
Could you try booting up the machine with DEL and then configure one IDE hard drive and check ?

I don't get it. You didn't use the onboard controller and used a podule and managed to format with Acorn software ? So it is a Castle podule you used ? Maybe in that case you need to use the specific Castle tool to change the HD name ... Have you checked on the excellent Chris' Acorn website now hos...
