Re: Fixed: Not seeing all ROMs in Model B

Good work. =D> Wordwise Plus is a great GP text editor for the Beeb. It also has a pretty decent text manipulation language built in which is fun to play with. Spellcheck II can be used to create wordsquares I seem to remember. There was an article in either Acorn User or Beebug (my memory fails me ...

Welcome, Dave. :D

The Master is a great machine and is very versatile. It is especially good when it is fitted with lots of add-ons. However, if you like your games then there are lots which do not like running on the Master, I believe.

Re: A3000 early spring clean

The BENQ monitor shown can probably display the A3000 modes natively without any conversion. I have one on my A5000. MODE 12 displays correctly and does not give the letterbox display that one gets with the LCDGamesModes module. The inputs are limited, however. There is only a single VGA/SVGA connec...

Welcome BW. :D

Good luck with the A3000, it is a fabulous machine. To get the network working you will need a functional Econet system - clock, cables, socket boxes and a fileserver.. The A3000 could act as a Level 4 file server for your other computers on the network.

Re: Replacing the Tube connector on a Master

If I were doing this I should cut the socket away and remove the pins one by one. Use a fine solder iron tip and keep it clean and moist and a solder sucker to clear the hole. Unless you are clumsy, the tracks should stay in place. Having offered this advice I expect someone will come along soon and...

Re: A3010 General Queries

I think you could be right with b) or c) there, Sarah. My A3010 was running with an AKF30 monitor but the A3020 was using a VGA monitor and LCDgamesmodes. c) could definitely be right too as I put loads more software on the A3020 and the !Boot sequence was bigger (more modules loaded). Good job that...

Re: A3010 General Queries

It will all come down to why one would want the A30x0. In my case gaming is not an issue. I have both machines, the A3010 and the A3020. Both have SD-card HDD analogues fitted, both have 4MB RAM and both perform equally well. Both machines run almost the same software with equal facility. The differ...

Here is one for the real valve enthusiasts ... Over the past 40 years or so I have been collecting all sorts of electronics junk from the 'valve era'. Welcome, Steve. :D That dead key can be repaired very easily (probably).
