I'm a big fan of the Organisers IIs as well. Amazing little pocket computer, which also had OPL.

All my kit is all out and hooked up but I’ve now reached saturation point. Swmbo would kill me if I continued collecting :o
So much for what I wrote.

An X68000 has just arrived :o
Welcome to the club! I have two of these myself. Which model did you get? :)

Re: The 1772 Disc interface IC - Availability

American companies and postage has gone all to pot. I used to buy a lot of stuff from the US via ebay, and don't even bother now. Huge sums for postage.

Many thanks. She had a heart attack last week but is now home and hopefully over the worst.
Heartfelt best wishes to you!

Hi Marcus

Not for the faint-hearted? You can say that again. I was soldering it on Mother's Day 2011 and Mrs JonB wasn't impressed.
Did she expect her present to be already built by then?

Re: New A3000 4MB memory

Is anyone working on anything that would replace the turboram addon for the A3010? That was my one big regret with the A3010. I'd saved up enough, and my mam rang Simtek only for them to have just discontinued it, due to lack of quality ram supplies. That bit extra performance would of been great!

Ah that's not a QL, just a normal speccy :)

We do have users on the QL Forum from Norway, you might be better off joining a few forums, and putting up wanted adverts etc :)

It would need to state what it's connected to as well :) The rapIDE in my RPC was always far more tolerant of stuff than the onboard sockets.

Re: Dragon 32 or Amstrad CPC 464

Do you have a kind of gumtree or ebay varient there? I remember a Finnish friend showing me a kind of ebay they had, which I was looking at Lada Nivas on

I reckon for £90 you could get something way more interesting.

Re: Dragon 32 or Amstrad CPC 464

Thanks all. The Dragon seems to be a "collector item" only then, so £90 might be too much. I'll give the CPC 464 a bit of thought, because if I have to import from the UK, there will be Postage + VAT + VAT clearing charge in addition. I'm guessing the extras will add another £50 or more to the cost...

Re: Formatting real harddiscs >512MB on RO3.1

I had a few that were under 512mb, but I'm sure I tried multiple partitions too. You had to be careful of using cf to ide adapters with double sockets etc.

Really old thread about it is here:
