Re: eBay : A 1MB A3020 ?
That wouldn't account for the joystick ports. They're only present on the A3010. That's a 3010 with the keyboard and top lid from a 3020. Seems like someone combined two machines to make one working one. It's a a3010 with what would of had a german keyboard, not an a3020  I found where I read ...

I'm sure I read that these were late models intended for the German market, then bought here and the keyboard swapped ower?

On Minder this morning, Ray had a three box Archimedes on his desk in Arthur's lock up. It was the Arthur is retiring episode. He put a cup of tea on the monitor, much to Ray's disgust

I love my A3010, owned it since I was a kid. It started out with 2mb and ended up with 4mb and a hccs mini ide podule. Only thing I missed out on was a turbo ram
I even had a parallel cd rom drive, although the fuse used to trip in it.

Re: Tatung Einstien..
The two machines using different drives is a pain I had when trying to get some working drives. I was looking at your replacement system for the 256, is it easy to use and fit? Do you just dump the files on or does it require more tweaking than that?

Re: Today I overclocked my A3010
I wanted to keep to multiples of 24MHz. I would guess that if a 48MHz crystal was 9.64 Mips then a 50MHz one would pretty well hit it. (Doing the calculation, it should be a 49.793MHz oscillator, but they don't exist.) I like the idea of a mild overclock, I loved my A3010 when I was a teen, althoug...

Re: Today I overclocked my A3010
An old post by someone on the iconbar stated "Right, here we go. The 'Turbo RAM' upgrade was a 4MB upgrade that used some stupidly-fast 40-50ns 4Mbit FPM memory (8x 1Mx4). Usually, upgrades at the time used 70/80ns. The upgrade also replaced the memory system clock of the ARM250 to clock the m...

Re: Today I overclocked my A3010
I know I've asked this before, but what differences did the Simtek Turbo ram have? I'm guessing it was user fit, and didn't needed soldered oscillators to be replaced? Would it be possible to re manufacture the turbo ram?

Double the MIPS does seem a like a fierce overclock. I hope you boys won't ride the tail off these old A3010s.

With that cable, I use a molex power adapter, I use the same one on my Amstrad 6128. I'm trying to remember the brand name, it was a decent quality one for around £30.
