Re: poorly Master in need of assistance

I sold my old Master on ebay years ago because of precisely those symptoms. Apart from Powering on, thats all it did... silence... flashing cursor... completely dead keyboard... no response to any wiggles or removing / replacing Roms... sold it and got a lovely "new" Retroclinic one..! Didn't know a...

Hi. Literally nothing.
Apart from wiggling the ULA about, it always seems to simply put itself right..!
Just lucky i guess...?

Its something its always done, so it doesn't bother me .

Re: Acorn Electron issue - be gentle with me...

Pretty much every Electron ULA benefits from a little "Massage Treatment " :D
Mine does it approx twice a year... works perfect then suddenly not booting with a plain white or yellow screen.
Open her up, give the ULA chip a little wiggle about, and all is well... :D

Funny enough, my Electron isn't screwed together either, as every so often it needs its ULA "massaging" to get it to behave...

Re: A bit of fun: Which version of BBC Micro is the best?

For me, the Master with Retroclinic's 4 way Multi OS and internal Datacentre seems the best of all worlds... only come across Zalaga that doesn't like that version of OS 1.2 .. although i'm sure other games complain too.. :-k

Re: Elk ACP3 and ACP4 Floppy Interface

Also the AP4 has 16k of Ram onboard as workspace so it keeps page at E00, same as a cassette system, the AP3 pushes Page up to 1D00, same as the Plus 3, which is a good 3k . So you have less user Ram with the Plus 3 / AP3.
