Re: Mystery Of The Java Star (1984)
Thanks for posting this improved version! I actually had this game back in the 80s, and I remember struggling through the early stages hoping that the game might improve. When the explorable plan of the ship appeared it was quite exciting - at last, something like a real game! Followed by the disap...

Re: Any potential for replacement disks?
I know this doesn't solve your immediate problem, but i have many blank DSDD 3,5" floppies and I would be happy to send as many as you need FOC if you would be willing to cover postage. I guess it might be of help if you found that you needed to put the images onto a physical floppy... anyhow, ...

Re: Electron User mag
Just had time to go through my stack of Electron User mags. I've found the ones you need :D so I'll get them in the post this next week. I noticed there were two V2 N9s  The real 9 is June, however, it looks like they miss labeled Julys as N9 as well . . . Dave H. Thank you so much Mr H! You...

[ALL FOUND!] Electron User mags
Hey all! I've got a few holes in my EU collection and with Chrimbo on the way the wife has kindly asked if there is anything I might like to buy myself... so i think it's time to try and complete that collection! Would anyone have any issues they'd be willing to sell? I am a few years late for this ...

A Master and and Electron in one package? Sounds like near perfection to me!
Nice work on the restoration; hope it is the beginning of a blossoming relationship.... Acorn machines are certainly an addiction

Congratulations on what has been achieved so far - this looks absolutely gorgeous and as a lifelong Electron fan I can only say that I wish there had been more like it back in the day!!
Really enjoyed watching the progress videos, too.

Hi Stuart, That would be fantastic. Of course I’m more than happy to cover all time and expenses involved. Have you managed to fix your Elk?.. Are there any parts you need? Honestly, just cover the postage and I'm happy. Us Acorn nuts have to look out for each other :) I found the keyboard, looks l...

a new track for sci-fi fans
hey all! Just wanted to let you know that i have posted a new track up to my Bandcamp - fans of the game Elite might pick up a few refs in the lyrics ;) Some of the beeps in the beat sequence are sampled from my Electron (back when she was working :-| ) Anyhoo, it's a free track so please go grab it...

Re: Using an Electron with E2P and User Ports as a sequencer
i am late to the party but can i add my praise for this project; beautiful work! I often sample sounds from my Electron to use in my AKAI S2000, but the closest i have come to sequencing on the Electron is a cool bleeper/drum sequencer proggy that I found a while back - I think was either a type-in ...

Re: Acorn Electron motherboard
Good to see you again, Stu. :D I've got at least a couple of unhappy Electrons that I've not got around to (aka don't know where to start!) looking at, so can send those (probably directly to Dave H. so he can make them happy again.) But let's keep that as a plan B ... you should be able to find so...

I can repair the socket for you, however, I'm currently on holiday until mid October (instead of isolating at home we're isolating in a static caravan in Selsey!). So if you'd like to hang on? Cost of postage plus beer money  Mr H; that would be awesome! I can indeed hold on... let me know whe...

Re: Acorn Electron motherboard
Can't you remove and replace the socket, or even just solder the ULA directly to the board? I did think about trying to source a new socket and replacing it, but the ULA itself could be bust and i read that faulty RAM could cause similar symptoms so i deciced that it might be just as cheap in the l...

Acorn Electron motherboard
Hey hey all! Hope all are well! It had to happen eventually, the old elk finally died on me :( I was getting the dreaded continuous tone on startup with a yellow/red screen. Caps light on and wouldn't alter with keys. I took the ULA out and cleaned it, put back, tried gentle pressure then tried some...

Here's a bit of fun for you Elk users; it's a tone-generator/noise proggy that I've made with a few options (my fav is 'freestyle' mode 99))
It may well work on Beebs too, it does work in emulator but is a bit wobbly. I recommend a real live Electron.
Have fun
