Re: Retro Memories

It does truly don't it my mate aerworuld. I think there's a lot to be said for this Art as Art and I think quite often people seem to miss it a bit that it's beautiful indeed. Then again though I think you're a man of your retro Art as well as I've seen your stuff posted on this forum very nice ind...

Nice work Pablo!

I agree about the creative side of our beloved Acorn 8-bits. The nostalgia fuels creativity.

new PD game up on AET

hey all,

Just to let you know that there is a new PD game available for download on AET in the British IBM series.

As with everything I bung out there, if you want it on a free physical 3.5" floppy, give me a shout <3

Re: Seeking repair help!

Stuart I think I have an AMX mouse somewhere, but it's likely in storage :( However, the principles are not too hard to understand. There are two signals for left / right, and two signals for up/down. I don't know what AMX called these signals, so I will call them X1, X2, Y1 and Y2. So when you mov...

Re: Seeking repair help!

Ah no, the AMX mouse is the old style mouse from the 80's that plugs straight into the User Port. I bought the smallymouse usb adapter as a backup after the AMX mouse started to play up the latest time, so i dont think that has affected the functionality of the User Port itself. I don't have another...

Seeking repair help! *Solved*

Well met all, My AMX mouse that I use every day for artwork on the Electron has packed up! Over the years, I had to open it up and fiddle diddle to get it working again (usually the wiring where it enters the mouse itself has broken) but this time I can't sort it. The mouse just runs to the right of...

Re: Broken New AP5 Fixed & Electron Mouse testing

SmallyMouse2 doesn't require a PS/2 compatible mouse - it has real USB support. Any mouse should work, even wireless ones. The only hardware reason SmallyMouse wouldn't work with something (assuming the connections are correct) is power - USB requires 5V. The interface to the computer is basically ...

Re: Broken New AP5 Fixed & Electron Mouse testing

Hi all! Sorry to jump in fashionably late! Not sure where you're at with the smallymouse compatibility side of things but I got it working fine with EUP and the ROM image and AMX Art version in that floppy image. Well, up until my decrepit ps/2 compatible USB mouse for smallymouse packed up  I...

Re: Broken New AP5 Fixed & Electron Mouse testing

Just the Userport and UPURS ports left to try. I also have a Smally mouse that I have never tested so I am going to try them both at the same time (what could possibly go wrong!). Any one tried the Electron + AP5 + Smally Mouse Combo. If so what software with mouse support will probably work? Edit:...

Hey all, I just wanted to let you know about a 'tune' I've knocked up using sounds from my Elk, a DR-55 drum machine and some lines of text I've read from a 1983 sales leaflet from Acorn Computers Ltd for the Electron. It's called 'Nostalgia'. I felt like I wanted to do something to mark the 35th an...

Just wanted to say that this board is wonderful. I finally got around to soldering up a 9 pin connector to test the usb serial link on the (E)UPURS and everything is lovely. I sent a dsd floppy image to the laptop and one back to the Electron and all is good, I have tested the Beeb compatible user p...

Re: ZOMBIES ATE OUR ROADIES!

The UEF file is a bit odd. It seems to include junk data at the end of each file block, so either my understanding of UEF files is incomplete or BeebEm is doing something strange. I can make a cleaned up version of the UEF if required. It might just be the noisy sound file I converted it from. It s...
