Re: Electron Plus3 + ROM/RAM board problem

Just faulty drive. Ray, I can replace this with the same model of drive or let you play with alternatives - let me know. Dave H :D I'll try to make it a 640k drive. I have several modern 3.5" drives that should do - I expect it will need a twisted cable to make it Drive 0. Would there be any advant...

Re: Plus 1 and AP5 new issue.

Sorry to waste your time Dave.
I have put the ADFS back into the AP5 slot 13 and set J1 closed on the AP6 - the ADFS is seen at power on and the CF card is working OK!
I presume the ADFS wasn't seated properly when I first tried it though I had tried reseating it.

Re: Electron Plus3 + ROM/RAM board problem

This is where it gets interesting: +5V OK - +12V measures 16V ooooch! Drive is officially dead! Probably just the motor drive circuit - but more of that later. Dave H :D Ah well, I was thinking of having a Plus3 with a modern 3.5 inch drive to make it a 640K unit anyway. I can have some fun making ...

Re: Plus 1 and AP5 new issue.

I have an AP5 with ADFS and IDE CF card adapter and the ADFS is not seen in slot 13 with a normal Plus1 or with an AP6 with its slot 13 off.
ADFS is OK in the other cartridge slot or a slot in the AP6.

Electron Plus3 + ROM/RAM board problem

I have a problem with a Plus3 and Prime's ROM/RAM board. It was working. Then it stopped accessing ADFS discs giving an error whether formatted previously on that drive or elsewhere but working OK with DFS discs. Then (a week or so later) it powered on to a white screen with black stripes, Mode 6 st...

Re: Electron Plus 3, some questions.

My original Plus 3 came with the stick-on strip for the Electron (long gone) which I duly applied as instructed, as did one I bought recently. I took it off as I always look at the internals to check for corrosion, 'bugs', etc. I thought the idea of the alloy stick-on strip was to shield the electro...

Re: Gotek on Electron

Ray, I've been using your menu system and it's excellent. I've made a small improvement to the ADFS version though - it prompts to load from drive 1 or 2, but if you have a harddisc this fails because ADFS renumbers the floppy drives as 4 & 5. Also, being pedantic, I would number the drives as 0 & ...

Two GoTeks arrived a couple of weeks ago, also LED and OLED screens, switch and rotary switch soon after. Not under the correct title but the DFS games are now available from the link on the first post.
These are the compilation the disks I produced for MMC cards put back into publisher folders.
A few games' disks are in other publishers folders - the menu prompts for the correct folder+disk.

I seem to remember these Axxxx machines reported errors through a series of flashes on the floppy drive - like morse code.

Yes, but the original HcX (not GoTek) can't, hence the above HFE files.

If it still doesn't work, I'll raise a ticket to fix it - it'll just be down to it not detecting the right size for all varients of adf, it can be fixed quite quickly.

Re: Open source firmware for Gotek floppy emulator released

I have made a mistake. The ADF files I have come across are 320K the same as ADM files.
How does FlashFloppy treat ADF files?
I find that FlashFloppy 0.9.16a will not use 320K ADF files but after renaming to ADM it does.

Electron ADFS games for HcX & GoTek floppy emulators

Recently the HcX software has been updated so that ADFS discs (ADF, ADM & ADL) are properly converted to the HFE format. It's also used for the Viglen ROM cartridge system.
The cartridge connector sits in that space with a cable to a plug for one of the 4 ROM sockets.
