Cheat for Manic Miner

I have received this message: Hi, I was wondering if you know the cheat that was built into the original bbc version of Manic Miner?  I knew the author David - he was in my school a couple of years below me, I think he was 15 when he released the bbc version!  I know the cheat involved typing "itsas...

Hi Col, The game I am querying is "Caving". Did the famous Peter Scott write it? or just another Peter Scott that lived in Germany? http://bbcmicro.co.uk/index.php?rt_R=&rt_B=&ro_M=&rt_M=&rt_P=&rt_U=&rt_W=&rt_L=&search=peter+scott&on_T=on&on_Y=on&on_P=on&on_A=on&on_G=on&on_S=on&on_Z=on&on_C=on&sort=...

Re: BBC MICRO loading from cassette problem

If the relay is clicking but nothing is loading, (and you know your cassette recorder and cable are good), it could be that the LM324 OP Amp at IC35 has gone faulty. They are a bit flaky.
If you are lucky it will be socketted...

Did Peter Scott live in Germany?

Hi, I have a strange question. Did Peter Scott the prolific programmer live in Rodgau Germany? The reason I ask is I have come across an old game published in Practical Computing called Caving which is by Peter Scott of Rodgau, but I don't know if it is THE Peter Scott. If you look at the Peter Scot...

I contacted eBay and as there was a chain of correspondence between me and the buyer, they could clearly see ...

Frustratingly, the original looks the same as the OCR I have been using.

270 should have L instead of L% and the < should be a >

Hi Paul,

8bs had the title wrong.
I will alter it on bbcmicro.co.uk now...
A scan, or some decent photos of that listing would be great :D
Thanks

Re: Old Usbourne books, free PDFs from Usbourne!

Hi Paul,
I think these "games" are a little too basic to split out.
I agree they were more an excercise in teaching programming than anything else.
If you include all the games on the "Creepy Computer Games" SSD, I can over-write the stand-alone Micro Puzzle with a new game in the near future.

Re: Missing Magazines from the 80s

Hi,
Does anyone have the book "The Giant Book Of Arcade Games for your BBC Micro"?
I am aware of a scan on the net but I think there are a couple of mistakes in it.
If anyone has it, it is a photo of the listing for "Minefield" that I need at this stage.
Thank you,

Lee.

Oh! and a quick heads up... "Micro Puzzle" is already on bbcmicro.co.uk so you can just copy it to your SSD.

Re: bbcmicro.co.uk - going beyond games?

The biggest difference between bbcmicro.co.uk and the great unified archive that we were discussing, is that bbcmicro.co.uk is not archive quality.
Its purpose is to make playing games as easy as possible but it does NOT host files in their original unaltered form.

Re: bbcmicro.co.uk - going beyond games?

One was a slightly later release. It had a slightly different, more colourful loading screen, and the main game code is a bit different. Generally, a slight diference in game code does not warrant both versions being included. Where it is known that different revisions of a game exist (either by a v...
