Re: Anyone fancy cracking Dracula Island?

Thanks for the efforts boys :D OK, if I load the DRACULA file, (the clear BASIC program) it still is attempting some dodgy stuff. If I delete line 10 as the call to &C00 was just protection and has now been RTSd anyway, delete lines 20 and 40 as they are just making sure that you get a BAD PROGRAM i...

Anyone fancy cracking Dracula Island?

Hi, It has been pointed out that Dracula Island adventure from Kansas Software doesn't work, either on JSBeeb via bbcmicro.co.uk or in BeebEm when downloaded. They all hang.... I am not sure what has gone wrong, but looking at it, it is software protection kicking in. Does anyone fancy looking at th...

Hi Julie,
For a little light reading on the Kevin Edwards tape protection schemes, look here, at one of my favourite threads ever: viewtopic.php?t=696

ps, make sure you have a few days spare to take it all in... then be prepared not to understand lots of it anyway 😂

Re: The Towering Inferno typein listing for BBC Micro

OK, I have corrected a couple of bugs and made the game winnable. Tidied the text up a bit too, and corrected a couple of incorrect connections  I also removed the SPEECH commands as it made BeebEm 4.14 lock up. You are welcome to try the original version, or, put the SOUND-1 commands back in ...

At this stage I have just got the listing to match the magazine listing**. I haven't play tested it or tried to complete the game.
I shall attempt this on Monday.....
