never had any problems!

Just something to think about while I on holiday (yes, yet another week in the sun  ) - I'm coming to the end of the first batch of AP6s and I'm starting to think about any enhancements I could add - Reading your thread and as I'm in the throws of reverse engineering a Cumana Disc...

Yeah they're soldered on. I'll have to get hold of some 40-pin DIL sockets first as I've only got up to 32.

Can anyone recommend a supplier of 6522 VIA's?
I can do both the 40 pin IC socket and the 6522. But you'll have to be quick, as I go to Spain on Monday. I'll PM you.

All the other disks I got in the same lot are mouldy too. Most were "backups" or data disks but there are the original Master 512 GEM disks... mouldy :(
If the discs are important (?) they do clean-up and usually work OK . . .

@dave - I was just this moment pondering whether or not the redesigned ap3/4 could have a gotek integrated into it, alongside rotary-encoder and OLED display, and then having the option to swap the internal and connected drives... Yes, Pegasus Interfaces ARE still available - It's just a case of getting them built. I'll drop sixxdog_uk (Alex) a line to remind him the stock he has needs completing. In the meantime you may want to find yourself a drive. You can chose a 'real' disc drive or go the Gotec route - search the Forum ...

I would think the first job would be to find out where the 'smoke' came from and work from there. Switch-Mode PSUs are no more difficult than any other type of circuit to repair - However, like all circuits, you need to understand how they work - with the added PSU caveat: Once the fault has been lo...
