Plextor SCSI PlexWriter

Continuing my clear-out - I have a Plextor SCSI PlexWriter on offer. This came with a bundle of Archimedes gear that was in daily use by the seller. So, I'm assuming it's working (full refund if not!). No idea of value so let's go with the £25 including P&P within the UK! Note: it's heavy - Just ove...

Re: Mega Games Cartridge (MGC) MK II Menu Development

Here's an update on this project. I've been working on 'specifications' (all in the attached spreadsheet) and the Menu (on the attached SSD) The spreadsheet hold the details for how everything will work. Sill tweaking here and there, but stable now. The SSD holds: MENU - Rewritten and fully commenta...

I'll do a costing - Phil . . . could you send me a BoM, please?

PCB price is not going to be the issue. But let's wait and see what the BoM cost is. And then I'll check around various PCB houses that offer a manufacture and build service.

JLC, afaik, do continuity testing based on an analysis of the gerber's nets with flying probes.
Flying probes takes an age this video shows the difference in speed, however, I doubt we'll be able to afford the 'quick' method as it requires a dedicated bed-of-nails!

I agree with Dave's comments about board testing. This board has supposedly undergone electrical testing at JLC, but I'm not sure what that means. Did they test continuity for every one of the BGA balls, or was it just a sample of various pads to make sure nothing had gone badly wrong? I designed i...

Oh that's a shame since a Gotek really isn't a replacement - no IDE / HDD / ADFS etc. But, obviously understandable if parts had become a problem. I have a limited supply of the XC9572 (100). The number actually available will depend on how many more AP5s I decide to build. Dave H :D Edit: But I be...

OK . . . Recovered a little 8) Three thing, with this board, that I think should happen: (1) The PCBs will need testing by the PCB manufacture (can you imagine tracking down a open trace on this board?). This would require an ODB file to be produced. It adds a little to the price but is invaluable f...

I suspect the rubber in the foot degraded (chemical reaction) rather than heat. Although chemical reactions are of course speeded up with increased temperatures... I’ve seen people after feet before, but can’t remember where. So maybe worth searching the forum and the web  Mark Mark Haysman (...

If it doesn't work . . . here's the long way to fix it: Separate the keyboard from the main PCB and remove the 5 screws that hold the key switch assembly to the lid.
