Hmmmm! Wonder where that went? . . . Did I use your 'other' eMail address in error? I'll check now - small pause - Darn, can't find hide nor hair of it - plays theme tune from some spooky film - OK I'll send it again (well, I'll try! :?

Did you receive the dodgy video? I was waiting in case there were any further tests I could do before sending!

When you have a board sorted even if there's no FPGA code working on it yet, let me know. I'm quite interested in doing a port myself too as a fun project.
Will do . . .

Here's an image of all I currently have and a DXF of the same:

May be worth getting some freezer spray and seeing which IC is causing the problem - it sounds as if it is an overheating issue . . . Re: EUPURS and AP5 Cable(s)

As a matter of interest Do the cables you supply connect to user port 2 Idc or the pin header? I'm supplying the USB to Serial leads, the one recommended by MartinB, along with a 9 pin 'D' to 7 pin connector for the header pins - I epoxy a 4 and 3 way together and 'mark' pin 1. Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

I could send you the DXF of the 'spreader' interface PCB, if that would help? Couldn't harm to look :) I'll dig it out . . . Current design replaces the ULA socket with standard turned-pin sockets. Do you have a link to the socket you're using for that? Similar to these. Whilst I think on, are you ...

Is there any slogger plus 2 bareboards still hanging about, and would they work with an AP5. I would imagine a 'cut' down version of that that only had the extra cartiridges slot would be useful.
Not sure, none here . . .

Re: Broken New AP5 Fixed & Electron Mouse testing

Not the MRB, pulled it this evening, was a pain as don’t know where I put the MOS, stole it from another Electron, and as they are both issue 4’s I took its ULA as well. (For my overheating issue, not put that in yet in case removing MRB fixes that). That's good, at least we're down to a basic mach...

Just posting this from a PM i've just sent:

"It may not be needed (the MRB, for the mouse to work), however, I'm seeing a Power-On anomaly when I'm using BeebSCSI 'sometimes' with a MRB fitted. Maybe worth a try (removing the MRB)?"

OK, just caught up . . . Due to me not having most of what is needed, I think the best plan here is to look at the problem at Cambridge. I'll have at least one elk system - Hmmm! Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

Just thought of some thing else. Will the original MOS go back after MRB removed? Assume not. Was on my todo list to build a Prine MRB ROM image that incorporated the *TAPE changes for gosdc. Not a feature everyone will want but be good if that image was available to use. Oh! You didn't really need...

Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

I'm interested in one (price allowing). I assume you'll include a JTag header to program/update? I'd be interested in making a version of my ULA for it. Re: Missing old/new Electron Expansions

One other thought, it’s pretty hard to get hold of a Plus 1 and disk controller (Pegasus AP3/4 etc) on eBay, so having a modern alternative I would think would be attractive to a number of people. There are some Pegasus interfaces left . . . I'll see about getting them sorted out. I've also the AP3...

Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

Although I still had an unanswered question about the MRB assupmtion. i.e. If you have one do you unplug that and put the 6502 back in? And it doesn't explicitly say (or I dont think it did) but the spec seems for the 'Ultimate ULA' seem to improve upon the standard MRB anyway. Yes, you'd need to r...

Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

What needs to be removed? Just the ULA and/or ULA socket? Or 6502, MOS ROM etc? Currently just the ULA socket, however, that may change! Is there any way to make use of the existing ULA socket to avoid desoldering that? I'd be interested in one of the boards as I'd be interested in converting my UL...

Re: Proposed: "The Ultimate Electron Upgrade"

One of the big problems, for some potential users, is the removal of the ULA socket without damaging any of the tracks. I had planned to build a good sized batch of maybe 50 and offer a fitting service for those that can't. I'd be very wary of anyone having-a-go and then blaming the problem on the p...

Re: Missing old/new Electron Expansions

An Electron ULA replacement is certainly technically possible, but I think the cost would work out at ~£50-£60 which make it unattractive, given working Electrons can be had for about half this. So it's been stalled for over a year now. My 'tardiness' can't have helped either  Re the cost: Is...

Original Slogger board £10.00
6502 £1.30
GAL £1.05
