Re: Undelete
I agree about DisKnight. Great at hard disc recovery, but not much use as an undelete tool. There was an "undelete" module (by Vertical Twist I think) that kept a track of deleted files and allowed recovery, but it was messy to use. Another option is to use one of the myriad "Trashcan...

Re: WD PiDrive
I'm sceptical as to the longevity of the SD card and would like something a little more permanent. I run RISC OS on a Pi Zero and make regular image backups of the SD card using Win32 Disk Imager, which can be downloaded from Sourceforge. That way, if it gives up, I can simply re-image a new card. ...

Re: Transferring files between Win 10 and old RISC OS machines
Hi Jon, This site claims that Zip 100 discs can be used in Zip 250 drives: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forum/helproom-1/zip-250-100-compatibility-121216/ I got both my parallel and USB Zip 100 drives off ebay for a few pounds each and the discs seem to be fairly easy to get hold off. The only problem...

It is a Zip 100. The model number is Z100USB and model year is 1999.Which ZIP USB are you using? I think there are a few different ones.

Transferring files between Win 10 and old RISC OS machines
Folks, Not sure if this has been covered here before, if so I apologise, but there is an excellent way to transfer files from between old RISC OS machines like my A3020 and up to date Windows 10 machines - Iomega Zip drives! As many know, Zip drives are supported by Acorns with bi-directional parall...

Unfortunately it is an EPROM copy I made with a blower not a file, so it will take until I dig out the BEEB, which I intend to do soon.

Re: Sleuth ROM (1984), Beebugsoft
A bit tricky as my Beeb is stored at the moment. I have a few different copies of this ROM, so I have attached another zip with a couple more. I know that at least one of them works as it is installed in my model B. Sorry about that.

Re: Sleuth ROM (1984), Beebugsoft
I do not have any eduware, but I do have a decent collection of utility ROMs. For example, I not sure if it is already archived, but I do have a pdf of the ISMEC monitor ROM manual (an early release, when it was known as the BBC monitor). I have not attached it as it is huge at 9MB (zipped). Unfortu...

I will have a dig around in my archive. Looking for anything specific?

I used to think that Sleuth was one of the better BASIC debuggers. Attached is the later v1.06 release of Sleuth along with the updated manual.

We use Windows 10 Enterprise and yes, you can disable Cortana. In fact the IS policy deployment within our company is to have the hideous thing turned off all the time. Also, software updates are under company rather than MS control as you would expect. I have to say that compared to 8.1, it is a va...
