Re: For Sale: IDE Podules again

Hi ian! great news, I found the weak point in the chain - my ide>sd adaptor. the little swine no longer works. I am sure I used it in an amiga and I used the same model in an a3020 but here, with the SD cards and Micro-SD cards I have now, its not playing ball. I posted in the 'how to format on a ri...

Re: Formatting SD/CF cards for use on RISC OS 3.1

a ha!. I may have it working I found a different adaptor, a CF shaped adaptor that takes amicro sd, plugged into the ide>CF adaptor... works! thus far, drive 4, then free show 148480 bytes free. right, back to the pi to copy stuff over and see for sure it works. thanks for guidance. So, my ide>sd ad...

Re: Formatting SD/CF cards for use on RISC OS 3.1

hi I'm using the exact same heads, cylinders, no long file names as per the 1st post. hopefully that lot adds up to under 512mb - can you suggest an alternative set of numbers that are also known to work? tried 3 sd and micro sd cards and adaptors, and also a compact flash card. i had suspected the ...

Re: Formatting SD/CF cards for use on RISC OS 3.1

hello, old thread:) using a recent version of risc os on pi, I am having trouble initialising SD cards for use in an a3010, under ZIDEFS. The A3010 thinks the cards are not initialised (even though under risc os on the pi, they show fine and i can copy to and from) the guide here mentions using !HFo...

Re: For Sale: IDE Podules again

hello if there was a printed sheet I must have lost it, I've had the board for some time. I've attached pictures of the IDE>SDcard adaptor. I think I bought this after recommendation in another thread but I've never used it. Certainly it could be the issue. I dug out a Compact flash adaptor and usin...

we're not in the middle of nowhere but thanks to BT's not-spot (we surrounded by fibre cabinets for miles, but they took our local cabinet away!) If anyone has the 3rd of June 1982 (page 7) Personal Computer World, I'd love a scan of it for a book I'm writing.

I believe this is the cover for that magazine:

Re: Today I overclocked my A3010

i got some of those sockets. They were pointless. Bas reported he had to file them down and they shattered so was a waste of time - he did it by trad soldering as you described above and reports the board works nicely. thank you. he also mentioned the boards had an open circuit on one of the address...

I found a supplier but only in the USA. Bas doesn’t have flux or heat gun etc so sockets seem safest considering the size. Andy...

Re: BBC, electron, atom, arch(?) on retropie?

Advmame and its emulation of a system such as bbc /electron are launched from within emulationstation. And when you exit advmame, you return to emulationstation. So I think it works as you ask. It's cool.

Re: BBC, electron, atom, arch(?) on retropie?

Hello Just look for advmame, install that. That comes with a compiled advmess executable that runs quite nicely for BBC B and Electron. Once the B is booted, usually *exec !boot runs the disk you've mounted and *chain works everytime for electron. It works really nicely. IMHO dont bother with beebem...

Beyond the ram, and the pcb, what are the other parts? Daniel pointed me to the layout files but stupid me I’ve just not worked those out yet! Don’t know what I’m looking for at all in the .png’s etc. When you have all the part numbers would you mind sharing?

great news!

I can recommend "adtpro" to send disk images (even a bootable image of itself) over serial or audio to the apple. Runs on windows or mac.Do you have a serial card or better, a super serial?
